You can get a sense of Zvolenovice as a travel destination from its specific trails, a seasonal swimming spot, and small historic monuments.

Getting There and Trails

Zvolenovice is served by local buses, with a bus stop in the built-up area. This provides a specific point of reference within the village when planning your journey. The trails also serve different purposes and have different locations, which you can keep in mind when assessing your destination.

The “The Roštejn route” passes through Zvolenovice as stop 17, between Rozsíčky and the Oslednice lookout tower. It is 47 km long in total. This length refers to the entire route, not just the section within the village. Another reference point is the red-marked Březinova cesta hiking trail, which runs along the northeastern edge of the Zvolenovice area. The two descriptions therefore refer to different things: in one case, the village is a stop on a longer route; in the other, the location of a hiking trail along the edge of the area is described.

Outside Zvolenovice, local roads connect to a network of farm tracks. These are used primarily for agriculture and forestry, as well as for cycling and hiking tourism. This shared use is important when planning your trip: the network is not used solely for tourism. The bus stop in the built-up area and the network of tracks connected outside it provide two different points of reference.

Pond and Historic Small Monuments

Just beyond the village, in the direction of Nová Říše, there is a small pond where you can swim. Its suitability for swimming may vary by season, so check the conditions locally if you plan to swim.

The Zděná boží muka is a small, four-sided religious structure dating from the 18th century and is a protected monument. Its form is a transition between a wayside shrine and a niche chapel. In addition to its age and four-sided shape, it can therefore be understood in relation to these two types of architecture.

The Křížový kámen commemorates the death of Josef Rambousek, a 67-year-old citizen of Telč. The front of the stone bears a relief of a cross pattée; the inscription “LP 1762” is now barely visible. The Křížový kámen is east of Zvolenovice, on the road to Nová Říše, near two stately trees and a traditional stone cross.

If your travel plans are mainly focused on hiking, you can distinguish the 47 km total route from the red-marked Březinova cesta along the edge of the area. For those interested in architecture and commemorative heritage, the protected religious structure and the memorial stone offer two different perspectives. This can help you decide whether Zvolenovice suits your travel plans.
