Bílichov combines a horseshoe-shaped forest backdrop with the Bílichovské údolí and the Chapel of St. Wenceslas. This gives you nature and architecture as distinct themes to consider when choosing a destination. There are also walks and mushroom picking in the forests, as well as a dedicated children's area.

Landscape and nature in the Bílichovské údolí

Forests surround Bílichov in a horseshoe shape to the north, west and south. Most of the cadastral area of Bílichov lies on the southeastern side of the Džbán Nature Park area. In the Bílichovské údolí, squirrels, stock doves and Alpine newts are among the specially protected species. The valley is also home to the richest population of black false hellebore (Veratrum nigrum) in the Czech Republic, comprising about 5,000 specimens. For a sense of the area's geography, it is worth distinguishing the forest backdrop around Bílichov from the location of most of the cadastral area on the southeastern side of the Džbán Nature Park area. These two details describe different scales.

The valley was formed by headward erosion. In this process, an erosion channel extends further towards its source.

The Chapel of St. Wenceslas

The Chapel of St. Wenceslas stands in the eastern part of Bílichov on slightly elevated ground above the village square. It is a stone building with a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular-ended presbytery. The presbytery is the altar area; its rounded end contrasts with the rectangular floor plan of the building. Those interested in sacred architecture will find a specific point of interest in this combination of different forms. Its position above the village square adds a precise location in the eastern part of the town to the architectural description.

Walks, mushroom picking and a children's area

The forests of Bílichov invite you to go for walks and pick mushrooms. These activities offer different focuses: a walk centres on moving through the forest landscape, while mushroom picking centres on searching in the forest. This lets you experience the area's natural surroundings both on foot and through a specific activity.

The children's area in Bílichov includes, among other things, a knowledge tower, a jumping pit, an acoustic memory game, a dendrophone, a tree house, a spinning game, a waste-sorting station and an observation station with a model. The features offer different kinds of play and learning, bringing together movement, sound, observation and knowledge-sharing. This makes the area a distinct aspect of the town alongside its forests, valley and chapel.

The Bílichov Masopust

A procession through the town with music, dancing, singing and competitions was planned for the 2026 Bílichov Masopust. Afterwards, a musical gathering with refreshments was to take place at the cultural centre. The event programme may change. If an event date matters to your travel plans, check the specific dates in advance.
