Líský lies in the Džbán Nature Park and combines a distinctive lookout tower with the Studánka Královka spring, a chapel and botanical features. For travellers planning their stay around specific attractions, the village offers a variety of points of interest: views across several landscapes, a local legend and seasonal nature observations. The information below will help you understand these highlights and plan your trip to Líský.

A lookout tower with views across several landscapes

The Líský Lookout Tower is a 38-metre-high steel tower. Its viewing platform is 25 metres above the ground and can be reached by climbing 141 steps. From there, the view stretches across the Kladensko and Louny and Rakovnicko regions, as well as part of the České středohoří. These measurements provide practical guidance for planning your visit: a visit to the tower includes both the climb up the stairs and the view from the platform.

A marked trail leads from the village centre to the Líský Lookout Tower; the distance is about 700 metres. This lets you account for the walk and the steps in the tower as two separate parts of the outing, without estimating a walking time.

Studánka Královka: spring, chapel and legend

The Studánka Královka spring and its chapel are set in a birch grove on a hill several hundred metres north of Líský. The chapel above the spring is a listed immovable cultural monument. Královka thus brings together a specific natural setting and a protected building.

A legend is also associated with the spring: Eliška Přemyslovna is said to have hidden the keys to the Bohemian Crown Jewels there while fleeing from her husband. The story is part of the local tradition surrounding Studánka; it has been passed down as a legend, not as a verified historical account. Those interested in local stories will find a different point of interest here than at the lookout tower.

Nature and botanical features

The Vápnomilný bor u Líského area protects calcicolous pine woodlands of the forest-steppe type. It is listed as a Natura 2000 site under the identifier CZ0210726, was first designated on 3 November 2009 and covers 4.0755 hectares. The area is home to a relatively large and thriving population of the small orchid creeping lady's-tresses (Goodyera repens).

Another botanical feature can be found on Líská stráň. Rare specimens of the purple orchid (vstavač nachový), a European woodland orchid, grow there. A visit around mid-May is recommended to observe the orchids on Líská stráň; the timing may vary depending on conditions in a given year. If you are planning nature observations as part of your trip, this seasonal guidance is particularly relevant.

Bus service and travel planning

The timetable for bus route 589 is valid from 14 December 2025. The route connects Kvílice, Hořešovice, Líský and Louny. Check the timetable before travelling if you plan to use this connection to get there or during your stay.

If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Líský, the different highlights can help you decide what to focus on: the tower offers views and stairs, Královka features a spring, chapel and legend, and the nature areas offer various botanical points of interest. Consider whether views, local history or seasonal nature observation will be the main focus of your stay, and base your hotel search on that.
