The Řehlovice Cultural Center is located on the grounds of a former manor farm, which was first mentioned in the 14th century. A brewery was established on the site in the 16th century. Visitors can attend exhibitions and ceremonial opening receptions there. The cultural center includes a Czech-German art park, open to visitors and displaying works by Czech and German artists. The site’s historic use and a public art offering exist side by side here.

Church and Building History

The Baroque Church of the Holy Trinity in Řehlovice was probably built in 1717 on the site of an older Church of St. Nicholas. This predecessor church probably dated from the 14th century. In 1741, the church was richly furnished; it was remodeled at the end of the 19th century. Its history can therefore be divided into several phases: the older church, the probable Baroque construction, and later alterations. The two dates are qualified differently: 1717 is given as the probable date of construction of the present church, while the predecessor church is also only probably dated to the 14th century.

Volská hora and Local Legend

Above Stadice lies Volská hora, a 309-meter-high wooded basalt hill. According to local legend, Přemysl Oráč’s oxen disappeared there when he unyoked them before going to meet Princess Libuše. The hill is thus both a distinctive landscape feature and the setting for a local tradition. The legend offers a different approach to history than the buildings in Řehlovice: here, the focus is on a story tied to a named place.

The Přemysl Oráč Monument in Stadice

In Stadice stands the monument to Přemysl Oráč, created by Josef Max in 1841. It is a national cultural monument and is easily accessible year-round. The reliefs depict Libuše’s envoys arriving at Prague’s Vyšehrad. Together with the legend of Volská hora, this invites a thematic comparison: there, the story concerns the vanished oxen; here, the envoys of Libuše are depicted in images. The tradition thus appears once as a local legend and once in the form of a monument with reliefs.

Cycling Routes and Views in the Region

Cycling Route 3009 is 36 kilometers long and runs via Přestanov, Chlumec, Chabařovice, and Stadice to Radejčín. Cycling Route 3071 continues from Řehlovice to Trmice and Ústí nad Labem. The routes therefore differ both in the sequence of places and in the stated total distance: Route 3009 is listed as 36 kilometers long, while Route 3071 continues from Řehlovice toward Trmice and Ústí nad Labem.

The Radejčín observation tower is a 30-meter-high metal tower integrated into a mobile phone mast. After climbing 97 steps, visitors can enjoy views across the Bohemian Central Highlands and the Ore Mountains. The tower has been open to the public since 2010. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads to the tower from Dubice or from the Radejčín stop. Its height, design, steps, and views give the destination a distinctive character; the listed access routes also provide practical guidance for planning a visit.
