Discover Přítluky: Views, Floodplains and Wine
Accommodation in Přítluky
If you are planning a stay that combines nature, scenic views and wine, Přítluky offers several specific points of interest. The town lies at the foot of Přítlucká hora and also within one of the most valuable remaining floodplain areas of the Křivé jezero National Nature Reserve. When choosing a hotel, it may help to first decide what you want to focus on: views and trails, the protected floodplain landscape, architectural history or a wine-related event.
Floodplain landscape and protected nature
Entry to the Křivé jezero National Nature Reserve is prohibited. No marked trail leads into the reserve; the area must be kept undisturbed to protect rare nesting birds. The protected area is an important breeding ground for birds of prey: white-tailed eagles nest there irregularly, while red kites nest more regularly. The floodplain landscape includes floodplain meadows, softwood floodplain forests of willows and poplars, and hardwood floodplain forests. The different habitats and nesting habits give nature enthusiasts specific topics to consider when planning a trip, while the reserve’s visitor restrictions remain in effect.
Views and trails around Přítlucká hora
One viewpoint is the Maják tower on Přítlucká hora. Following repairs, it reopened to the public on September 1, 2025; check local visitor information before travelling. From the top, views extend across Pálava, the Nové Mlýny reservoirs, the Lednice-Valtice area and as far as the distant Alps. A yellow-marked hiking trail connects Přítluky directly to the tower. The viewpoint and hiking connection are two specific points of interest if you would like to plan your time in Přítluky around the landscape.
Cycling route and wine trail
Two different types of route can be distinguished when choosing where to go. The recommended Petra Bezruče cycling route passes through Přítluky and connects Lednice, Bulhary, Přítluky and Zaječí along this section. The marked Velkopavlovická wine trail runs from Šakvice through Zaječí, Přítluky, Rakvice and Podivín, continuing on to Velké Bílovice. The sequence of towns shows which stops are on each named route; both routes include Přítluky, but they are designated as different types of route.
Church and wine event
The Church of St. Margaret dates from 1784 and has a Gothic core. Four listed early Baroque statues stand beside it: those of St. John of Nepomuk, St. Vendelin, the Holy Trinity and St. Florian. The date, Gothic core and early Baroque monuments each add a distinct historical and artistic dimension to the site.
Otevřené sklepy Přítluky takes place every year in early July. Free wine tastings are offered in the wine cellars. The format may change from one edition to the next; exact dates and the programme may also vary. If you would like to plan your trip around the event, check the organiser’s information in advance. The annual event gives wine enthusiasts a specific reason to include Přítluky in their travel plans at this time of year.
The lower Nové Mlýny reservoir
The lower Nové Mlýny reservoir is used for recreational fishing in the cadastral area of Nové Mlýny, within the municipality of Přítluky, and provides opportunities for tourism and recreation. Fishing is a specifically stated use; tourism and recreation are the reservoir’s broader purpose. Before visiting, it is advisable to check the latest access and fishing regulations.
