Dražovice offers several distinct themes to help you plan your trip: the Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist and its historic surroundings, the public outdoor swimming pool, and walks and recommended cycling routes. This lets you focus your stay on local history, swimming or outdoor activities.

Church and Local History

The Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist was built in 1888–1889 on the site of an older church. The oldest written record of the Dražovice parish dates from 1382; a local priest named Gracius is documented for that year. Antonín Cyril Stojan was the parish priest in Dražovice from 1888 to 1908 and completed the construction of the church during that time. The early record of the parish and the construction of the church mark different periods in local church history. Stojan’s tenure covered the construction years and continued until 1908.

The Church of Saint John the Baptist precinct is a historic ensemble comprising a cemetery, boundary wall, gate, wicket gate and a double-flight staircase. Here, a historic ensemble means not only the church building but also a group of related elements within the church precinct. The Baroque rectory below the church was built in 1792. Dražovice is also home to a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1900.

The anniversary of the church’s consecration is observed on 25 August, commemorating the church’s consecration on 25 August 1889. 24 June is listed as the feast day of the church’s patron, Saint John the Baptist. The August date therefore commemorates the specific consecration, while June is associated with the church’s patron: the two dates mark different ecclesiastical occasions.

Outdoor Pool and Water Areas

Koupaliště Dražovice is a public outdoor swimming pool with two pools, operated by the municipality. The main swimming pool measures 44 × 19 metres and is 2.75 metres deep. There is also a children’s pool with a paddling pool and slide. The dimensions refer to the main swimming pool; the paddling pool and slide are features of the children’s area.

Two car parks are available in the immediate vicinity of the outdoor pool. If you are planning a specific visit, check the operator’s latest information.

Walks and Cycling Routes

The Dražovice grove is suitable for walks and continues into the groves of Letonice and Němčany. This gives you a specific walking option in addition to the outdoor pool and cycling routes.

Recommended Cycling Route 1 passes through Dražovice and Větrník and is 28.4 kilometres long. Recommended Cycling Route 7 is a 58.6-kilometre loop connecting Vyškov, Dražovice and several nearby places. Route 7 is therefore just over twice as long as Route 1 and is explicitly designated as a loop. Route 1 can be identified by its passage through Dražovice and Větrník; Route 7 connects several named places on a longer circular route. You can compare the routes by their stated lengths, described format and named places.
