Nedabyle brings together historical landmarks, a marked hiking route and points of interest across the municipality to help you plan your trip. The town’s history stretches from its first written mention in 1346 to a permit to open a mine in 1522. Other highlights include a burial mound field dating from the Bronze Age and Hallstatt period, a farmstead with a clearly defined architectural layout, and the Lipová alej Nedabyle landscape feature. The approach to the Nová Ves–Hůrka viewpoint also passes through Nedabyle. You can plan your stay around your interests, whether history, rural architecture or hiking.

History: Donation and Mining Permit

The first written mention of Nedabyle dates from 1346. It records that Havel, known as Kon of Nedabyle, donated the tithe from a farmstead in Nedabyle to the church in Střížov. In 1522, permission was granted to open a mine near Nedabyle. These two events represent distinct historical connections: the 1346 reference concerns a donation to the church, while the 1522 event concerns permission to open a mine.

Burial Mound Field and Hiking Route

In Panský Les, within the cadastral area of Nedabyle, there is a burial mound field from the Bronze Age and Hallstatt period, protected as an immovable cultural monument. Four visible, excavated burial mounds are part of the site. Please leave the site undisturbed and respect its protected status. Its dating makes the field a tangible point of reference for the area’s ancient history.

Since 2016, the yellow-marked Vidov–Hůrka hiking route has passed through Nedabyle and its cadastral area. If you include this route in your plans, check the local signage before relying on the marked route. The route description covers Nedabyle and its cadastral area, not just the built-up part of the village.

Farmstead and Landscape

Houses Nos. 11 and 55 form a farmstead with gabled façades facing the street. Its layout includes a residential building on the left and a retirement house on the right. Between the residential buildings is an agricultural building with a passageway and two gates. Both the orientation of the complex and the division between residential and farm buildings define its architectural character.

Another named point of interest is the registered Lipová alej Nedabyle landscape feature. It lies in the northeastern part of the municipality, along the road to Doubravice. This location places the landscape feature within the municipality and distinguishes it from the historic buildings and the burial mound field.
