Rejchartice offers two distinct ways to plan a trip: its local history and the surrounding landscape. If you consider both walks and culture when choosing a destination, you’ll find specific points of interest: a hiking route, historic religious buildings, evidence of stone-carving traditions, and a seasonal art event. Which of these shapes your stay depends on whether you focus on the landscape, individual buildings, or a particular event date.

Landscape and trails

Rejchartice stretches along the Kamenec stream. The surrounding mountains of the Hrubý Jeseník range reach up to 794 metres, and the local forests invite walks throughout the year. The Andělské stezky is a 5.2-kilometre hiking route. Three information boards guide walkers along the way. This offers two different approaches to planning: you can treat the numbered route as an activity in its own right, or enjoy the forests as a year-round setting for walks. The stream, mountains, and forests describe different aspects of the local landscape.

Church and historic traces

The protected Baroque Church of St Michael is a historic building dating from 1770, with an older core and a cemetery. It stands on the site of a predecessor church dating from 1643, at the crossroads of four historic routes connecting the surrounding villages with Rejchartice. The two dates refer to different historical points: 1643 marks the predecessor church on this site, while 1770 marks the historic building. The Stations of the Cross consist of fourteen paintings by the artist Jindřich Kress of Rapotín. This connects the building’s history with a specific artistic detail. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary is also a historic building, dating from 1755. Stone crosses in the municipality and historic 19th-century tomb monuments in the cemetery bear witness to a tradition of artistic stone carving in the Šumperk area.

The monument to the victims of the First World War underwent extensive restoration from April to August 2024. If you plan to visit it specifically, check its condition before your visit.

Art and cultural events

The Andělárium sculpture symposia have been held in Rejchartice since 2013, helping to build a unique art collection of angel sculptures. In the third week of July, you can watch sculptors and woodcarvers transform tree trunks into angel sculptures at Andělárium. The traditional SvatoMichaelská pouť pilgrimage festival has also been revived, and various cultural events take place alongside it.

For planning your schedule, the seasonal art event differs from walks in the forest, which are possible all year round: you can watch the sculptors during the third week of July, while walks in the local forests are an option throughout the year. Check the specific event dates before your trip, and check the condition of the restored monument if you plan to visit it specifically.
