Přemyslovice has several specific historical landmarks: All Saints’ Church, the windmill and the summer house Emerencin, the predecessor of the château. They span different eras. At the church, the focus is on architectural history and painting; at the windmill, on heritage preservation and its surviving equipment. You will also find information about an observation tower, a cycling tour and a traditional Pochod. This lets you shape your trip around history, views or activity.

History between the church and the château

The founding of Přemyslovice is indirectly linked to the Přemyslid ruling dynasty in the Bohemian lands. A specific historical landmark is 4 August 1306: on that day, Václav III, the last male descendant of the dynasty, was murdered in nearby Olomouc.

All Saints’ Church is believed to date from the mid-13th century. It was first mentioned in historical sources in 1386. Architecturally, the building shows features of old Romanesque churches. The most extensive renovation took place in 1933; the interior paintings from this renovation were created by Jan Kohler. The church also houses a painting by Sattler from the mid-18th century depicting the baptism of Prince Bořivoj in Velehrad. The first mention in 1386 is not a confirmed construction date, but a later written reference point.

The Přemyslovice windmill has been protected as a historic monument since 1958, and its equipment has been preserved. This also draws attention to the building’s technical features. Visits are possible by arrangement with the owner or during special events. Check which option is currently available before your visit. The predecessor of Přemyslovice Château was the summer house Emerencin, built by Karel Příza in the first half of the 19th century.
