Vratimov: Forest Trails, Cycling and Swimming Pool
Accommodation in Vratimov
Vratimov combines forest trails with facilities for cycling and skating, as well as a seasonal swimming pool. It is also home to cultural monuments of local significance and a commemorative tree. If you are looking for a hotel in Vratimov, these different themes can help you decide what to focus on during your stay: nature, activity, or a visit to local facilities.
Forest trails in Důlňák
Důlňák is a forest of about 125 hectares, consisting mostly of deciduous trees, with oak and beech predominating. It is located in the Podbeskydská pahorkatina region. The start and finish of the Důlňák fitness trails are at the forest entrance from K Hájence Street, near house No. 155. This brings together a clear point of orientation for the trails and a distinct nature destination: Důlňák is a forest area with its own scale and characteristic tree cover.
Cycling and skating
The Ostrava–Beskydy cycle path includes the Vratimov–Sviadnov section and is reserved exclusively for non-motorized traffic. As local conditions can change, it is advisable to check them before setting out.
The Vratimov pump track includes a main track about 140 m long and a smaller pump track about 40 m long for beginners and younger children. Its rollers and banked turns make it possible to maintain or increase speed. The pump track is open to the public free of charge; opening conditions may change seasonally. Therefore, check the current conditions before visiting.
The Vratimov skatepark and bike park are freely accessible within the enclosed sports complex. The 548 m² concrete park offers sports obstacles for skateboards, scooters and bicycles. The pump track is characterized by rollers and banked turns, while the concrete park has a different focus, with obstacles for various types of sports equipment.
Seasonal swimming pool
Koupaliště Vratimov adds water activities to the cycling and skating facilities. The heated stainless-steel pool measures 42 × 17 m and has two swimming lanes, water massage and other water attractions. There is also a two-level children’s paddling pool. The swimming pool operates seasonally and is subject to conditions; plan your visit around the season and operating conditions.
Koupaliště has three snack stands with seating terraces. During the swimming pool’s operating period, at least one snack stand is always open; the offerings may vary. The pool’s seasonal operation is therefore also relevant when planning a break on site.
Cultural monuments and commemorative tree
The Church of St John the Baptist in Vratimov is a monument of local significance. The Chapel of St Anthony in Horní Datyně is also among the locally significant monuments. Both represent the cultural side of a stay in Vratimov, alongside opportunities for activity and enjoying nature.
Another natural point of interest is the Datyňský hraniční dub, a commemorative tree in Vratimov–Horní Datyně. It stands on a triangular grassy area bordered by local paths. The forest, sports facilities, swimming pool and individual local monuments offer different highlights for your stay, without limiting your visit to a single theme.
