If you are looking for a hotel in Mšeno, the main focus of your stay can help you decide where to start: the Cinibulkova Trail offers a longer circular walk, the town’s urban spaces showcase different historic architectural styles, and the Městské lázně offer relaxation in an Art Deco building. You can tailor your time in Mšeno to specific interests—from a walk lasting several hours to architectural heritage and the baths.

Circular walk on the Cinibulkova Trail

The Cinibulkova Trail educational path starts at the Městské lázně and returns to Mšeno after a 9 km circular walk. The walk takes approximately three hours, though the time may vary from person to person. The two figures answer different questions when planning: the number of kilometres describes the route length, while the approximate time indicates the expected effort.

The path passes through the Bludiště Rock Labyrinth. The Mšenské Pokličky, a distinctive geological formation area, are also located near the Cinibulkova Trail. This gives you two different points of interest to consider when planning: the labyrinth as part of the route and the nearby formations. The walk combines these landscape features with a clearly identified starting point and a return to Mšeno.

Historic architectural heritage in Mšeno

Many two-storey log and half-timbered houses have survived in Mšeno, particularly on the outskirts of the town. At the same time, late Classicist and historicist rows of buildings shape the appearance of its most important urban spaces. To appreciate the town’s architectural heritage, it is worth considering these two scales separately: the surviving houses with their different construction styles, and the rows of buildings that help define the character of important public spaces.

A prominent landmark is the complex of St. Martin’s Church. It stands on a low rise in the middle of the sloping, triangular Komenského náměstí, opposite the deanery building. Its location makes the relationship between the church, the shape of the square and the building opposite part of the townscape.

The original fortifications are also part of the history of St. Martin’s Church. The complex included a perimeter wall, bastions, a gate with a drawbridge and a moat. Sections of the wall still remain today. This site therefore allows you to distinguish between the historic fortifications and what is still visible: sections of the wall have survived, not the entire complex.

Městské lázně and practical information

The Městské lázně are an Art Deco building constructed in 1932. They offer a place to relax, and water from a rock spring provides a cool respite even in the hottest summer. The baths complement the longer walk on the Cinibulkova Trail with a different focus. If you plan to visit the baths, check the current opening hours in advance.

The Mšeno Tourist Information Centre is located in the library at the town hall, nám. Míru 1. There you can get tourist information, maps and regional publications. It is a practical place to stop if you need to find your way around Mšeno or look for maps to help plan your trip.
