You can get to know Malinová through its watercourses, a pond, a designated hiking route and local celebrations. This gives you two distinct themes to consider when planning your trip: the landscape, with its waterways and paths, and the events taking place. If you are looking for a hotel, you can first decide whether nature or a possible event should shape your stay.

Streams and pond

The Krakovský potok is one of Malinová’s natural and scenic assets. It rises below a forest in the western part of the municipality and flows south. The Malinovský potok, by contrast, runs through the built-up area and across the village green before joining the Krakovský potok to the west. The differences are clear: the Krakovský potok is defined by its western source and southward course, while the Malinovský potok runs through the built-up area and joins it to the west.

The Rybník Malinová pond lies on the Krakovský potok beside the road to Krakov. Its location can therefore be identified by both the stream and the road. Together with the two distinct streams, it creates a clear landscape focus for anyone interested in waterways and the layout of the village when choosing a destination.

Hiking route and transport connections

A red-marked KČT hiking route is listed as a municipal infrastructure asset. This gives you a specific point of reference if you are planning a hiking trip. If you want to coordinate your overnight stay with a particular route, check its course in advance.

The road from Lubná through Malinová to Krakov is used by cars, pedestrians and cyclists. If you include this connection in your arrival or day plans, you can take your choice of transport into account. Check current road conditions before setting out, too.

There is a bus stop in Malinová. An older timetable listing gives approximately six bus services per day on weekdays. Before your trip, check the current timetable and the relevant weekday rather than relying on the older frequency as a fixed schedule.

Local celebrations and historical dates

Dětský den (Children’s Day) was held in Malinová in 2021, 2022 and 2023. These three consecutive editions show a recurring children’s celebration tradition during those years.

A summer farewell celebration was also held in two consecutive years: in 2021 under the title “Rozloučení s létem” and in 2022 as “Rozloučení s prázdninami”. The two Czech titles refer to editions of the same summer farewell celebration.

In 2021, a traditional “Myslivecké grilování” was held; another “Myslivecké grilování” took place in 2022. On 13 September 2025, a Nohejbal tournament was held at the children’s playground and announced as its tenth edition. If you want to plan your trip around an event, check the current dates in advance.
