Choteč offers several distinct points of interest for a cultural and historical trip. At its heart is a large traditional baroque farmstead; other highlights include ecclesiastical architecture, traces of fortifications, a mill with preserved machinery, and a landscape shaped by the Radotínský potok. The buildings and remains can be considered by their form and historical context without assigning them to a single period.

Farmstead and Fortification Traces

The Zemědělský dvůr is a large traditional baroque farmstead in the center of Choteč. Its size and baroque classification make it a distinctive feature of the town’s architectural heritage. The complex also preserves remains of a fortress: a tower is now used as a cellar, and an enclosing wall evokes a medieval fortification. Thus, the same complex brings together a baroque farmstead, older fortification traces, and the tower’s current use as a cellar. It may not be possible to visit the inside of the complex.

The Hradiště Na zámkách is a separate site. The fortification remains there are of uncertain age and include a rampart and a ditch. This distinction helps put the sites in context: the age of the fortification at Hradiště remains unknown, while the enclosing wall at the Zemědělský dvůr is identified as a medieval reuse. The two sites therefore offer different points of interest for anyone interested in fortification forms, but they do not make the same historical claim.

Church and Townscape

The early baroque Church of St. Catherine stands on a hill in Choteč and offers views of the surrounding area. Its two unusually low towers are a distinctive feature. Another specific architectural detail is in the lower level of the northern tower: it contains a chapel dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk, with a cloister vault. The church brings together the impact of its setting and the distinctive features of its architecture. Access conditions for the grounds may vary.

A statue of St. Catherine and St. John of Nepomuk, dating from 1764, stands in Choteč’s village square. It complements the church architecture with a freestanding work featuring the same two saints. A cultural and historical look at the town can therefore distinguish between the building, the chapel interior, and the individual statue, rather than treating them as the same type of attraction.

Mill and Landscape

Mlýn U Veselých combines two distinct architectural and historical features. It has a complete set of mill machinery from the first half of the 20th century, as well as rusticated baroque-style gables, and is considered a historical and architectural monument. The date refers to the mill machinery.

The landscape offers another distinctive feature: near Choteč, the Radotínský potok has cut a deep riverbed into the landscape. The townscape thus extends beyond architectural history. Visitors especially interested in architecture when choosing where to stay will find different architectural themes in the farmstead, church, and mill; the fortification remains and the incised riverbed add archaeological traces and landscape features to this perspective.
