Cernolice brings together specific points of interest for a range of travel interests: a traditional climbing area, landscapes, an educational trail and activities at Kamenitý Vrch. The following features of the area can help you get a sense of Cernolice as a destination and decide what to focus on during your stay.

Climbing and landscape

The Čertovy skály rocks near Cernolice form a traditional climbing area with easier and intermediate routes. If climbing is part of your trip, this range is a specific point of reference when choosing your destination.

The lowest-lying site, Potoky, is at an altitude of 300 to 350 metres above sea level in a deeply incised canyon of the Všenorský potok stream. Junipers, cypresses and unusual pines grow there. The Stivínka landscape area in Cernolice covers 13 hectares. Its features include two streams, woodland, undulating terrain, steep slopes, and trees, shrubs and flowers. Potoky is therefore defined mainly by its canyon setting and plants, while Stivínka is characterised by its combination of waterways, woodland and varied terrain.

Cycle route 8129 passes through Cernolice. However, the section towards Korunka is not primarily intended for cyclists. For example, the Černolické skály natural monument can be reached from Všenory via a yellow-marked hiking trail.

Educational trail and local history

The “Putování Černolickem” educational trail was designed and created for Cernolice in 2001–2002. Its “Černolice – náves” stop covers the history of Cernolice. The “Černolice – Potoky” stop focuses on the origins and development of the Potoky settlement and the character of Stivínka. This allows you to distinguish between two different historical topics on the trail: the history of Cernolice and the development of Potoky in relation to Stivínka.

Local topics also include the history of trade and transport. A historic route was also known as the “Zlatá stezka” and was used to bring salt to Bohemia. An important historic trade and military road ran through the Cernolice area along the Všenorský potok stream towards Řitka. These details add historical connections to routes and trade to the topics covered by the educational trail.

Activities at Kamenitý Vrch

Kamenitý Vrch in Cernolice offers individual and family horse rides. The activities also include hippotherapy and other therapeutic and leisure activities for children with health impairments and their families. Experiential workshops and other activities are aimed at children and adults. As activities may change, confirm which rides and programmes are currently available before visiting.

Choosing Cernolice as a destination

Local attractions offer a variety of options: for climbing enthusiasts, the easier and intermediate routes at Čertovy skály are a specific point of interest; those who want to explore local history can distinguish between the topics covered at the two educational trail stops mentioned above. If cycle route 8129 is relevant to your plans, bear in mind the information about the section towards Korunka. If you are interested in activities at Kamenitý Vrch, we recommend confirming what is currently on offer in advance. You can choose Cernolice based on the purpose of your trip, then search for hotels for your travel dates.
