Discover culture and leisure in Vitez

Vitez lies in the valley of the Lašva River. The M17 highway runs north–south close to the municipal area and forms part of the so-called Corridor Vc. The valley and the highway are two distinct geographical reference points for planning your trip. Building history and culture

The Ahmed-Agina Mosque in Vitez dates from 1590 and was later renovated; the Catholic Church of St George was built in 1905. The dates provide different historical reference points, while the later renovation adds another layer of history to the mosque. In Kruščica, the Crna Kuća memorial complex comprises an enclosed courtyard, the wooden house of the same name, a grave with a sculpture, and commemorative plaques. This gives you a choice of different historical themes: religious architectural history on the one hand, and the layout of a memorial complex on the other.

A short sword from Veliki Mošunj is kept in the archaeological department’s depot at the Zemaljski muzej Bosne i Hercegovine and may be viewed by prior arrangement with the museum administration and a curator.

The recurring theatre programme Dani kazališta „Vitez“ began its 17th edition in 2025. Gradsko kazalište mladih Vitez holds the recurring Ljetna škola glume; its 20th edition concluded in 2025. In 2026, the International Art Colony in Vitez reached its 16th edition. An exhibition of works from the 15th Art Colony was planned in connection with its opening. The formats differ: a theatre programme, a summer acting school and an art colony. If one of these is the reason for your trip, check the dates of the relevant edition in advance. Leisure in Vitez

Ribica Water Park in Vitez offers a different kind of leisure activity. It has four swimming pools, water slides for adults and children, diving boards, waves, water massages, waterfalls and a wild-water channel. The beach areas are sandy, landscaped with greenery and paved with concrete. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Following maintenance work in June 2026, the section of the “Staza stare pruge” cycling trail that runs through the municipality of Vitez was fully open for walking and cycling and ready for use. If you plan to include the trail in your itinerary, check its current condition before setting out.
