Priske e Vogel offers several points of interest for trip planning: the Tërkuzë Gorge and its river, Mount Priska e Vogël, and the ruins of the Church of Shën Kollit. The landscape, outdoor activities and architectural history each offer a different focus. When planning a stay, you can start by considering whether your interest lies more in river activities, mountain scenery or an archaeologically dated structure.

Tërkuzë Gorge: Rock, River and Route

The Tërkuzë Gorge is located in the village of Priska e Vogël. This geological formation, set among limestone cliffs, stretches for about 1,200 meters. You can hike along the river, and in summer you can swim in the Tërkuza River. Two different activities are therefore available in the same landscape: a walk by the water and a swim that is explicitly seasonal. Take current local conditions into account for both activities.

The gorge is on the same road as the Bovilla Reservoir, and comes before the reservoir along this route. The road to the gorge is partly paved and partly gravel; the surface may change. So check current road conditions before setting out. According to an older tourist description, you need a guide or a local person to show you the way when visiting. Check in advance which access conditions currently apply.

Mountain Scenery and Hiking

Mount Priska e Vogël reaches 1,217 meters and is the highest peak in the Zall-Herr area. A 2013 route entry lists Priska e Vogël as an alternative starting point for climbing Mount Brar; two hikes associated with Brar also begin there. If you want to use these route details, check trail conditions locally, as the information dates from 2013.

The Church of Shën Kollit

North of Priska e Vogël, the ruins of the Church of Shën Kollit, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, stand on a rocky outcrop above the Tërkuza River. Archaeological dating places the ruins in the 12th century. The building was single-nave—with one main nave—and rectangular. It measured 7.5 meters wide and 18.1 meters long and was oriented from east to west. Its length considerably exceeds its width; together with its orientation, this helps establish the building’s layout.

Regional Context and Travel Planning

In the Zall-Herr area, local festivals promote organic products from farming and livestock raising. At the same time, marketing agricultural and animal products is becoming a tradition there. This connection broadens the picture of the area beyond individual landscape and cultural features.

A municipal transport overview from 2019 listed Priskë e Vogël on suburban route 24 between Zall-Herr and the villages. For your travel plans today, check whether this service is currently operating.

The seasonal focus also varies: swimming in the river is explicitly a summer activity, while the church is understood in its cultural and historical context through its archaeological dating and floor plan. You can therefore consider travel dates and your interest in riverside scenery or architectural history as separate factors in your planning.
