Nørresundby offers a range of options for a stay: the Limfjord and water activities, paths through the fjord landscape, and cultural history and exhibitions. If you are looking for a hotel in Nørresundby, considering which of these themes will shape your trip most can help you decide. The places and activities below show the different ways you can spend your stay.

Limfjord, swimming and water activities

Lindholm Strandpark lies directly on the Limfjord. The water has been classified as having excellent bathing quality. Because water quality and bathing advisories can change over time, check the current information before swimming. The floating bridge at the beach park is accessible to everyone. At the Lindholm Brygge bathing station, a bathing pier provides safe access to the Limfjord.

There are also specific places to go for other water activities: Tunnelhavnen is an active marina on the Limfjord in Nørresundby. At Syrens Jolleplads, you can go kayaking, use SUP boards and dinghies, and fish. Contacting the associated club may be required to use these facilities. This lets you distinguish between a marina, a swimming access point and a place for various water activities.

Paths and views in Stigsborg

In Stigsborg, a path traces the old coastline. You can walk along it and take in the fjord landscape. From Stigsborghøjen, there are views of the Limfjord and Stigsparken. Syrestien runs through Stigsparken and then follows the Hærvejsruten to Hammer Bakker. The paths therefore differ in their relationship to the landscape: one focuses on the former coastline, while the other continues through the park to Hammer Bakker.

City bus route 16 is also relevant when planning routes in Stigsborg. It connects Stigsborg with Nørresundby Midtby, Aalborg Midtby and City Syd. As bus routes can change, check the current timetable before travelling. For a different kind of activity, Skansen has a 220-metre zip line with a 26-metre drop. As availability can change, it is advisable to check before visiting.

Swimming and wellness

Svømmeland has a 50-metre pool and diving boards at heights of one and three metres. It also has warm wellness pools indoors and outdoors, as well as a sauna. Swimming, diving and wellness are therefore available as separate activities. Availability and operating details may change, so check the current information before visiting.

Cultural history and exhibitions

Nørresundby Kirke was built in the mid-12th century. Since 1998, the church has traditionally held KirkeKulturUge in March. If you want to plan your trip around it, check the current event dates. Kirkens Hus hosts art exhibitions featuring works by local artists, as well as themed exhibitions; the exhibition programme changes.

Brohusets Kolonial is housed in the former ticket booth that stood on the pontoon bridge across the Limfjord. Urtehaven first opened to the public in 1977 and contains a collection of historic stones. Both places add their own local stories to the older historical connections.

Vikingemuseet Lindholm Høje has an exhibition about Viking life at Lindholm Høje. Lindholm Høje is also home to around 700 cremation graves from the Iron Age and Viking Age. The exhibition focuses on Viking life, while the graves date from both periods. Together with the medieval Nørresundby Kirke, these offer different historical highlights for a stay.
