The Fjordstien/Hjerteruten is a 6.5 km walking route through the northern part of Hvide Sande. It runs from the fjord to the coast, through the dunes and back to the harbour. Dunes, beach and water sports

At the surf spot at Sydmolen, the areas of use are separated: the area between the moles is reserved exclusively for surfers and SUP riders, while windsurfers and kitesurfers are allowed to surf south of the mole. Fishing history at Fiskeriets Hus

Fiskeriets Hus explores the history of fishing and Hvide Sande, life by the sea and fjord, and the development of the community that grew up around fishing. Visitors can board the ships and try out the role of a captain. A small treasure hunt leads through the entire museum: visitors search for fish and marine animals from the waters around Hvide Sande.

The collection also includes the last surviving original example of a deep-sea vessel, built around 170 years ago. This offers several perspectives on fishing: as the story of a community, through the experience of being aboard the ships and through the marine life that the treasure hunt invites visitors to find.

Historic insights at the harbour and farm

A hundred years after it was established, Tyskerhavnen has retained its atmosphere and authenticity. Abelines Gaard offers a different way to explore history: this listed beach bailiff’s farm feels like a time capsule and lets visitors experience life as it was on the North Sea coast. Water sports and wind experiences

At Kabelparken, wakeboarding and water skiing are offered on a cable system. Bookable courses are available for beginners and more experienced participants; they include instruction and equipment. If you plan to take a course, check the booking details before your trip.

Vores Vind is an exhibition about the history and events connected with the creation of the offshore wind farms in the area. Fishing and fish auction

Many anglers fish recreationally every day in the area by the lock. If you would like to fish yourself, check in advance for any permits and access rules. The tourist fish auction gives visitors the chance to bid on fresh catches straight from the sea.
