When looking for hotels in Fieberbrunn, it is worth considering the activities that will shape your stay: mountain hikes with varying durations, a moor lake with mountain views, swimming facilities and local history. This lets you get a sense of Fieberbrunn based on the things that matter to your trip, rather than narrowing your choice down to a single experience.

Mountain Trails and Destinations

Fieberbrunn’s hiking trails range from challenging summit tours to leisurely panoramic hikes and walks down from the mountains. They lead to viewpoints, alpine pastures, mountain streams and lakes. The flower trail around the Hochhörndlspitze passes numerous alpine flowers that are under nature protection. It runs via Reckmoos and past Lärchfilzhochalm to the Streuböden middle station or Timok’s Wilde Welt.

The walk on trail no. 711 from the Lärchfilzkogel mountain station to Wildseelodersee takes about one hour. The route to Wildseeloder also starts at the mountain station, follows trail no. 711 via Wildseelodersee and takes about two hours. This allows you to compare the lake destination and summit route based on their approximate walking times. The route to Wildseeloder also offers panoramic views of the Kitzbühel Alps and distant, snow-covered Tauern mountains.

There is also a named cross-country skiing option: the Dandler trail in Fieberbrunn is 15 kilometres long, easy to intermediate in difficulty, and groomed for both classic and skating styles. Cross-country skiing conditions depend on the season.

Lauchsee, Swimming and Play Stations

Lauchsee is a small moor lake surrounded by gentle mountains. From here, you can see the Wilder Kaiser, the Loferer Mountains and the KitzbĂĽhel Alps. The spacious grounds are used for swimming and family activities; seasonal opening depends on the weather. The southern shore is reserved specifically for fishing. If you would like to fish there, check the applicable permits and regulations before you travel.

The AUBAD in Fieberbrunn has an indoor sports pool, an outdoor swimming channel, a 65-metre tunnel slide, a children’s pool, a sauna village and a restaurant. As facilities and opening rules may change, check both before visiting.

Timok’s Explorer Checker Trail features giant animal replicas and interactive play stations. This adds animal-themed attractions and playful activities to mountain and water experiences as specific areas of interest.

Church and Local History

The parish church of St. Primus and Felizian in Fieberbrunn was consecrated on 17 June 1446. Its ceiling frescoes were created in 1982/83 by Innsbruck artist Wolfram Köberl. Local history thus encompasses both a precise historical date and more recent works of art.

The name Fieberbrunn appears regularly in 15th-century documents, and less often in the shortened form Prun. The name derives from the healing spring at Pramau. Together with the history of the parish church, this gives Fieberbrunn a distinct local identity alongside its landscape and leisure attractions. When planning your stay, you can choose between these different focuses and find the place that best suits your interests.
