Jiamusi brings together historic urban culture and several large park areas. When choosing where to go, it helps to understand how these places differ: Youfang Hutong is shaped by its history and intangible cultural heritage, while the parks each focus on wildlife displays, landscapes, water, and recreation. Jiamusi cannot be defined by a single leisure profile; you can explore the themes that match your travel interests.

Cultural History in Youfang Hutong

Youfang Hutong is located in Xiangyang District and is a national tourism and leisure area. It was established in 1931 and named after an oil mill that once operated there. The name itself therefore points to a specific historical use of the neighborhood. At the same time, the hutong is the first district in Jiamusi established for intangible cultural heritage.

Following a government-led transformation in 2021, it developed into an urban reception and meeting place. Its profile includes intangible cultural heritage, regional specialties, and the night-time economy. A pedestrian food street featuring selected culinary projects complements this offering. Historical context and cultural and culinary uses thus come together in one place. The specific cultural and commercial offerings may change.

Parks with Different Focuses

Water-Source Mountain Park lies in the southeast of the urban area, about three kilometers from the central square. The site covers 64 hectares; the planned area is 54 hectares. These figures refer to different areas, not two measurements of the same total size. As an AAA-rated tourist area, the park focuses on wildlife displays, with recreation and entertainment as additional features.

Sifeng Mountain Scenic Tourism Area lies in the southwest of the urban area, about six kilometers from the city center. It combines flood control, irrigation, tourism, and parkland. The area covers 360 hectares, including 261 hectares of water. Forest cover is up to 80 percent; area and cover figures may change gradually. Four connected basalt peaks are another defining feature of the area. It is suitable for recreation and physical activity for people of different ages. Water, forest, and peaks complement the area's various functions.

Alongjiang Park lies in the northern part of Jiamusi's urban area and is a national AAA-rated tourist area. It stretches 6.2 kilometers from west to east and covers 89 hectares. It is divided into areas for ecological wetlands, cultural recreation, and quiet leisure. These designated areas are the main focus at Alongjiang; Sifeng Mountain Scenic Tourism Area additionally serves flood control and irrigation purposes. The parks therefore differ not only in size, but also in their functions and themes.

When choosing where to go, the differences can be summed up briefly: Water-Source Mountain Park focuses on wildlife displays, Sifeng combines water, forest, and basalt peaks with multiple uses, and Alongjiang is divided into three distinct areas. The places share the character of parks, but offer different thematic profiles. Consider which of these focuses best matches your travel interests.
