Cider and Heirloom Fruit Varieties at Rural Ridge Orchard
At Rural Ridge Orchard, guests explore the orchard during the Orchard to Bottle Cider Tasting Experience and tour the cider production facility with an in-house expert. The experience also covers the history of the heirloom fruit varieties grown there and the production of Virginia cider. Visitors can taste cider and apples at the orchard; live music is also part of the offering. Reservation details may change; check them before planning.
Wine and Food at Pippin Hill
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is located in the Monticello Wine Region. The Estate Tour & Tasting offers an in-depth exploration of the wines, vines, and farm-to-table concept and takes place from April to November. The Cooking School focuses on food: the hands-on cooking class is led by the chef and ends with a family-style dinner shared by the group. The seasonal, ticketed program also includes educational and hands-on activities related to cut flowers, cooking, wreath making, wine, and watercolor painting. Tasting experiences must be reserved in advance through Resy; the booking method may change, so confirm it with the provider beforehand. The offerings also differ in format: the tour focuses on wines, vines, and the farm-to-table concept, while the Cooking School centers on taking part and sharing a meal.
Tastings and Views at Loving Cup
Loving Cup is a certified organically farmed winery and a certified organic wine cellar. From the veranda, the view stretches across the valley and the vineyards below. Wine tastings are offered from March to December, Friday through Sunday, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For comparison, Pippin Hill’s Estate Tour runs from April to November; Loving Cup also lists the days of the week and times. Check the hours before planning your visit.
