Oakridge offers a variety of options for your stay: trails, riverside areas, local history, events, and locally grown products. If you’re looking for a hotel, you can plan your trip around the activities that matter most to you. For hiking, the trails offer different points of reference: Greenwaters Trail is suited to an easy hike, while Salmon Creek Trail can be assessed by its length, elevation gain, and approximate distance from the center.

Trails and Nature

Old Mill Park Disc Golf Course includes a multi-use trail network with historical interpretation, mill artifacts, and art installations. If you’d like to include historical themes and art in your trip planning, this offers a distinct focus. At Greenwaters Park, a gentle trail runs along the Willamette River and is suited to an easy hike. Its riverside setting and hiking character give it a different focus from the trail network at Old Mill Park.

Salmon Creek Trail is 7 miles (11.2 kilometers) long and has less than 500 feet (152 meters) of elevation gain. Its trailhead is about one mile from downtown Oakridge. Length, elevation gain, and approximate distance from the center are three separate points of reference for your planning: they indicate the route’s overall length, elevation gain, and the location of the trailhead.

At the eastern end of Oakridge, the Salmon Creek Levee Trail provides access to riparian woodlands where Yellow Warblers and Warbling Vireos nest. For visitors interested in riparian woodlands and these bird species, this offers a distinct connection with nature alongside the hiking trails described above.

C.T. Beach Picnic Area and Boat Launch is a day-use area on the Hills Creek Arm of Hills Creek Reservoir. Keep its day-use designation in mind when planning to visit.

History and Events

The Oakridge Museum showcases community artifacts, early technologies, and social and political history. It also features rare and unique exhibits. The museum’s subject matter thus ranges from objects related to community life to technological, social, and political topics. Compared with the historical interpretation and mill artifacts at Old Mill Park, it offers a distinct focus for anyone interested in Oakridge’s history.

The Oakridge-Westfir Tree Planting Festival is an annual, family-friendly event. In summer, two to three Oakridge Concerts in the Park are held at Greenwaters Park. The festival and concert series offer different reasons to plan a trip. If a specific date is important, check current event dates in advance.

The Oakridge Community Farmers Market offers locally grown products; its season runs from May through November. Check the specific dates and opening hours before your visit.
