Architectural history and development
A historic structure at nearby Beckett Park is the restored Muhlhauser Barn, a timber-frame barn dating to 1881. The original barn was built by Gottlieb Muhlhauser, a Cincinnati beer magnate. It can be rented each year from April 1 through November 15. If you’re considering renting it, check availability for your desired dates.
Beckett Ridge was established in 1976 as a Planned Unit Development (PUD). The two dates refer to different things: 1881 is the year the barn was built, and 1976 is the year Beckett Ridge was established. This distinguishes the barn’s older architectural history at the nearby park from the development of the community.
