Vers-Chez-Perrin is a hamlet in the municipality of Payerne in the canton of Vaud. When planning your trip, the village offers several distinct points of interest: a Vita course that runs entirely through the forest, a mountain bike training course, the Chapelle de Vers-chez-Perrin and a mixed choir. This gives you the option to decide whether you would rather focus on a route through the greenery, cycling practice or the hamlet’s cultural life.

Forest route beyond the hamlet

The Parcours Vita near Vers-chez-Perrin starts beyond the hamlet and is 2.6 kilometres long. It runs entirely through the forest, and parking is available for visitors. Its starting point, length and woodland setting give you concrete details to consider if you would like to include the route as a separate activity. The stated distance gives you a clear idea of the route’s scope when planning your day.

Mountain bike circuit in the Bois de l'HĂ´pital

The mountain bike training course is located in the Bois de l'Hôpital in Vers-chez-Perrin and forms an 800-metre loop. It is open to non-members, too, and is maintained by the Vélo Club Payerne. It differs from the 2.6-kilometre Parcours Vita both in its shorter length and in its purpose: mountain bikers can practise their skills on the course from Chalet Blanche-Neige. The obstacle layout may change, so it is a good idea to check the current setup on site before training. After cycling, a fire pit at the course is available for grilling; confirm its availability on site.

Chapel and singing

The Chapelle de Vers-chez-Perrin is considered one of the hamlet’s attractions. Its immediate grounds include a lawn and large trees, and parking is available right next to the chapel. Its location and design also make it suitable for a wedding blessing or a baptism. If you are planning such an event, you should confirm the arrangements in advance.

La Chanson des Hameaux offers another glimpse of the hamlet’s cultural life: the mixed choir is associated with Vers-chez-Perrin and the hamlets of Payerne. It performs French, classical, sacred and folk songs in several languages. The chapel, as a religious building, and the choir, with its multilingual repertoire, thus offer two distinct cultural points of reference.

Picnics and accommodation

Chalet Blanche neige is equipped with two tables, four benches and a wood-burning stove for cooking. It can accommodate up to 30 people outdoors and around 15 indoors. These capacities differ depending on the area, so if you are planning a break there, you can take the indoor and outdoor spaces into account separately.

The Auberge de Vers-chez-Perrin is situated in the hills above Payerne in a rural setting. It has a bicycle garage for travellers passing through and cycling tourists, as well as an on-site restaurant.
