Bellerive VD is home to protected buildings, a space dedicated to the artist Roger Monney and a wine cellar offering tastings. There are also routes through several villages and regional destinations. If you are looking for a hotel, these different highlights can help you plan your stay: cultural sites, wine and routes each offer their own points of reference.

Architectural history and Roger Monney

The Château de Cotterd in Cotterd, Bellerive (Vaud), and the Maison vigneronne in Bellerive are protected historic monuments. The Cure de Cotterd-Bellerive was rebuilt between 1752 and 1754 and offers an exceptional view. Anyone interested in architectural history will find both protected buildings and a specific period of reconstruction here.

The Espace Roger Monney in Bellerive is dedicated to the memory and works of the blacksmith-artist and sculptor Roger Monney. Around sixty of his works are on display there; his studio has also been preserved as he left it. The collection and workspace offer two different ways to explore his work. Visits are available by request for groups of six or more. If you plan to visit the Espace, arrange your visit in advance.

Wine and regional specialities

Le Vully is one of Switzerland’s major wine regions and also its smallest. In Bellerive, Cave Parisod offers wine tastings by appointment or on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Opening hours and visiting arrangements may change, so confirm your appointment in advance.

Visitors may also be offered homemade gâteau du Vully to try during a tasting; it is baked in the winery’s traditional wood-fired oven. In the Vully-les-Lacs region, gâteau du Vully is highlighted as a local speciality. Vully-les-Lacs lies between Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten, providing the geographical setting for this regional speciality.

Routes and regional orientation

The Chemin Chasselas is five kilometres long and passes through Constantine, Montmagny, Bellerive and Cotterd. The Rando Découverte – Les Panoramas reaches Bellerive after Cotterd and then continues to Montmagny; the route is accessible by public transport. For the Chemin Chasselas, the distance and the villages along the way are the key reference points; for Les Panoramas, the order of the places and access by public transport are also useful.

The Rando Découverte – à vélo passes through Bellerive. On the Rando Découverte – Le Patrimoine, you can see the church in Cotterd along the Broye, amid the vineyards. The Rando Découverte – La Gastronomie suggests Bellerive as a possible stop for an aperitif. The routes address different planning considerations: distance, access by public transport, a view of a church among the vineyards or a possible stop for an aperitif.

The Vully-les-Lacs tourist office is in Salavaux and offers regional information, maps and sightseeing ideas. The sandy beach, which is more than 800 metres long, is also in Salavaux. Near Vallamand lies the Les Chenevières de Guévaux nature reserve, a protected area of national importance.
