At Kronogården, Trädet combines farm history with paths through an agricultural landscape. There are also two longer hiking routes with different destinations and landscapes. When planning your trip, it is therefore worth distinguishing between the short nature trails near the farm, Pilgrimsleden norra Ätradalen, which ends in Ulricehamn, and Redvägsleden along the Ätran. This lets you choose the focus of your stay based on specific places and trail lengths.

Kronogården: Farm History and Nature Trails

Kronogården is an authentic 19th-century farm. The farm has an agricultural museum in one of its barns, as well as an exhibition about Trädets brewery. At Kronogården, agricultural heritage and local industrial history sit side by side.

The nature trails at Kronogården start and end at the farm in Trädet. They pass along horse paddocks, fields, and meadows. The shorter Kronogården Trail is 1.9 kilometers long, adapted for accessibility, and suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Its length and suitability for wheelchairs and strollers set it apart from the two much longer hiking routes.

Two Longer Hiking Routes with Different Destinations

Pilgrimsleden norra Ätradalen is 39 kilometers long. It starts at Kronogården in Trädet and leads to Skottek, in the southern part of central Ulricehamn. It also connects Falbygden and Ätradalen. The trail’s posts bear the Cross of Saint Olof. If you are considering a route that ends in southern Ulricehamn, both its starting point and destination are clearly identified.

Redvägsleden is 47 kilometers long and runs between Lassalyckan and Trädet; you can start it at Kronogården. Part of the route follows the winding course of the Ätran through Ätradalen. Along the way, there are several rest areas with fire pits and wind shelters for overnight stays. On the section where Redvägsleden runs parallel to Dalumsleden, the trail markers are yellow.

The two routes have different highlights: Pilgrimsleden runs from Kronogården to Skottek and connects Falbygden with Ätradalen. For Redvägsleden, Trädet as its endpoint, the river, and the rest areas are important reference points. Both routes offer more than their total length when you are choosing a hike for your trip.

Landscape South of Trädet

South of Trädet lies Frälsegården, where Ulricehamnsåsen stands out clearly as a ridge and hills. Frälsegården is on the road between Falköping and Ulricehamn. There is a parking area and an information board on a small access road into the protected area. The landscape differs from the paths at Kronogården: paddocks, fields, and meadows line the trails there, while the terrain south of the village is shaped by ridges.

In the wider travel area, Ätradalsleden offers a different perspective for cyclists. The cycle route is 199 kilometers long and runs between Falköping and Falkenberg. Of that distance, 146 kilometers run entirely along a car-free railway track. This clearly distinguishes the regional cycle route from the hiking trails around Trädet. When planning your trip, you can consider the short nature trails, the longer hiking routes, and this cycle route as different options.
