Brösarp appeals to travelers looking to combine a hilly natural landscape with hiking trails and cultural history. The Brösarp Hills are part of the Verkeån Nature Reserve. On its way to the sea, the Verkeån River passes through the northern and southern hills of Brösarp. In this landscape, named trails meet traces of a long history of human use. If you’re looking for a hotel in Brösarp, these highlights can help you decide whether to focus your stay more on hiking, architectural history or both.

Hilly Landscape and Hiking Trails

Pasqueflowers, cowslips and sand pinks grow on the hills in the Verkeån Nature Reserve. There are several different trail descriptions to help you plan your walks: the Glimmebodaleden is a five-kilometer, blue-marked circular walk in the northern Brösarp Hills. The yellow-marked Backaleden is 19 kilometers long and passes through Brösarp.

The Kivik–Brösarp section of the Skåneleden also crosses the northern Brösarp Hills. The length, markings and route give you clear points of comparison: a circular walk in the north, a longer trail passing through Brösarp, and a section of the Skåneleden across the northern hills. This lets you choose based first on route type and connection to the village, without confusing the trails.

Cultural Landscape and Architectural History

Animals have grazed on the Brösarp Hills for thousands of years. Archaeological finds also show that the hills have been an open cultural landscape since the Bronze and Iron Ages. These two aspects reflect the landscape’s long history: the hills’ open character is not just a natural feature, but is also connected to how people have used the land.

Glimmebodagården lies among the gently rolling Brösarp Hills. It is a four-winged farmstead and a unique, well-preserved example of a rural cultural landscape. Parts of the farmhouse date from the 18th century. The local heritage association holds a range of events at the farm every year. If you’d like to include one of these events in your stay, check the dates in advance.

Brösarp Church dates from the 12th century. Its apse and chancel wall are covered with Romanesque paintings in reddish brown and blue-gray. The church and the farmstead thus add two very different aspects of cultural heritage to the landscape: the paintings inside the church and the architectural history of a farmstead.

Other Ways to Explore the Surroundings

The Brösarp–S:t Olof railway offers views over Hanö Bay and Nordösterlen. There are also opportunities for mountain-bike cross-country riding on singletrack in the hilly terrain around Brösarp. Local cycling restrictions may apply, so check them before riding.

If you want to camp or stay overnight in the nature reserve, Vantalängan is the only place in the reserve where this is permitted. Check the local rules before you travel. This restriction is important to bear in mind if you’re considering an overnight stay in the reserve; it does not describe the services offered by a hotel in Brösarp.
