A stay in Kågeröd brings together a range of interests: natural areas in the surrounding region, trails for walking and cycling, and cultural and historical landmarks in the town. Options range from a short walk through the wetland to a longer bike ride, along with forest trails, plant diversity and local history. You can choose how to balance nature, exercise and culture according to your interests.

Nature and Trails

Kågeröds mader is a wetland nature area in the Vegeån Valley, northwest of Kågeröd. The Municipality of Svalöv has created a 750-metre walking loop at Kågeröds mader. This offers a specific route for a shorter walk, as well as the valley’s distinctive landscape.

The Liaängen nature reserve lies immediately north of the town and is home to more than 200 plant species. The two natural areas have different features: Kågeröds mader is a wetland in the Vegeån Valley, while Liaängen is known for the plant diversity of its protected area. If plants are a focus of your trip, Liaängen offers a particularly specific point of interest.

The Church and Local History

Kågeröd Church is a medieval church in the Romanesque style. It was built in the late 12th or early 13th century. The Brahe epitaph in the church depicts Tycho Brahe as a child. The church and epitaph thus offer different cultural and historical points of interest: the Romanesque style and a specific depiction of Tycho Brahe.

For many years, Kågerödslund has been an important gathering and celebration venue for Kågeröd and the surrounding region. Since the 1930s, dance music has drawn many visitors to Kågerödslund. Together, these details reflect the venue’s longstanding role as a community hub and a specifically historical period in its dance culture.

Exercise and Recreation

Finnstorp is located on the route between Stenestad and Kågeröd. Marked fitness and walking trails run through deciduous and coniferous forests there. These forest trails offer a different experience from the 750-metre walking loop at Kågeröds mader: here, the marked trails and the two types of forest mentioned are the specific points of interest.

For cycling, the 47-kilometre “Historiska spår och naturupplevelser” route runs along Cykelleden Skåne between Kågeröd and Höör. The difference between a 750-metre walk and a 47-kilometre bike ride is easy to factor into your plans if you want to choose your outings based on the distance you have in mind.

Around Kågeröd, Finnstorpsdammarna offers fishing opportunities and a sheltered barbecue area for picnics. The activity park on Söderåsvägen in Kågeröd has a skate ramp, a pump track, Teqball and an outdoor gym. Kågeröds Tennisklubb operates a gravel tennis court in Kågerödslund.
