Degeberga offers opportunities for hiking and culture. Other natural highlights include a protected reserve with rare plants and animals, as well as a gorge with waterfalls. If you are looking for a hotel in Degeberga, these varied destinations can help you shape your stay around a particular theme: rare plants and animals, the gorge and waterfalls, or art and local history. The specific trails, historic buildings and works of art described here complement the natural attractions with a range of practical and cultural points of interest.

Nature Reserve, Gorge and Hiking Trails

Degeberga backar is a municipal nature reserve with rare plants and animals. Forsakar med Lillaforsskogen is a deep gorge with several waterfalls, surrounded by beech forest. For trip planning, these offer distinct natural highlights: the reserve focuses attention on rare species, while Forsakar showcases a gorge landscape with waterfalls and beech forest.

Two hiking trails start from the village of Degeberga in the northern part of the Degeberga backar nature reserve: the blue trail is 1.2 kilometres long, and the red trail is 2.2 kilometres. The red trail is therefore one kilometre longer than the blue one; the two distances provide a clear basis for choosing a shorter or longer route. The walking path from Degeberga to Forsakar connects to the trails on Degeberga backar at the northern end. The northern cycling section of the Stora Vattenriketrundan passes through Degeberga in the direction of Kristianstad. For the hiking trails, colour and length distinguish the routes; for the cycling tour, it is the route and its direction.

Church, Art and Local History

Degeberga Kyrka was probably built from dressed fieldstone towards the end of the 12th century. The church received its old pulpit as a gift as early as 1592; the altarpiece is the work of Ivar Johnsson. The probable construction period and the year 1592 provide two different points of reference in time, while the altarpiece also offers a specific connection to an artist.

The Ivar Johnsson Museum includes a modern art gallery. Numerous sketches and copies of finished works are exhibited there. Together with the altarpiece in Degeberga Kyrka, these offer different perspectives on art: a work by Ivar Johnsson in the church, and sketches and copies of finished works in the gallery.

Degeberga Hembygdspark is located in the valley of the Mörkavadsån and comprises around ten interesting historic buildings containing numerous old objects. The focus here is therefore an ensemble of buildings and historic objects, while the church stands out for its pulpit and altarpiece as a place of sacred furnishings. There is also a café at Degeberga Hembygdspark och Motionsområde.

Another cultural highlight is CMMC,s Vår veteranmarknad, a vehicle-culture market. The 2026 edition was held at Degeberga stugby for the twenty-first time; the event had been held there for the twentieth year.
