In Eslöv, nature reserves and hiking trails are as much a part of the travel experience as a city museum, distinctive buildings and outdoor art. Options range from routes through parks to exhibitions about the city’s history and recreational activities in Trollsjöområdet. When planning, it is worth considering route lengths, event programmes and freely accessible art as separate highlights.

Hiking Trails and Nature Reserves

Eslövs allmänning is a municipal nature reserve in the southwest of Eslöv. A 4.5-kilometre hiking trail runs through it and forms part of the so-called park walk through several parks in Eslöv. Hälsans stig also passes through the same area: a six-kilometre circular route with markers at every kilometre. This gives you a choice of two differently described routes—one is part of a walk through several parks, while the other is a marked loop. Trail conditions can change, so check them before setting out.

Abullahagen lies on the edge of Eslöv and includes the small lake Långakärr, which attracts many birds. The nature reserve combines natural and historical features: it contains graves of people who lived here as early as the Iron Age. Abullahagen can be reached on foot, by bicycle, public transport or car. If you are travelling by public transport, check the current connections in advance.

City History and Architecture

Eslövs stadsmuseum is housed in a merchant’s home dating from 1892. The exhibition Eslövsresan traces the city’s development from the first decade of the 20th century through the major changes of the following century. It offers a chronological overview of Eslöv’s transformation. The museum also presents exhibitions, lectures and other events throughout the year; the individual programme items vary. For a specific visit, it is therefore worth checking the current schedule.

Medborgarhuset is an architectural heritage site visited by students and architecture enthusiasts from around the world. It was inaugurated on 28 September 1957. The building hosts concerts, exhibitions and theatre performances, with a programme that changes over time.

Another distinctive building is Eslövs kyrka: a red-brick cathedral in the Gothic style, with a tall, pointed tower on the west side. It was inaugurated on 29 November 1891. The church hosts concerts, Saturday music and other musical events. If you would like to plan your stay around an event, check the current events calendar.

Film and local history can also be part of your plans. Eslövs Filmstudio screens films at Bian on Mondays at 7 p.m.; Bian cinema also shows current films in the evenings and at weekends. Film programmes may change. Visitors can consult the municipal archives’ collections in person in Eslöv by appointment.

Art and Leisure in Eslöv

In the Gjutaren district, Artscape Eslöv has created a freely accessible outdoor gallery and art walk. They include nine works of art and installations. The works are part of the city’s public art collection and are accessible free of charge around the clock. This means you can plan the walk independently of event schedules.

Trollsjöområdet consists of Sahlins park, Ekenäs and Skytteskogen. It has an 18-hole disc golf course. The playground at Trollsjön has a wheelchair-accessible swing. In the Husarängen recreation area, you will find illuminated fitness and exercise trails. These activities differ from an art walk or museum visit in their focus on outdoor exercise.

Karlsrobadet indoor water park has four water slides and a children’s paddling pool with water heated to 32 degrees. Facilities and temperatures may change; check the information before your visit.

Local Flavours and Activities in the Municipality

Eslöv has a tradition of food and drink production, bringing food craftsmanship and beverage production together. One specific example is Maya choklad in central Eslöv, where chocolate is made from scratch using cocoa beans from organic and ethically sourced crops.

There are also activities beyond the town itself, within Eslövs kommun. Fishing is possible in Lakes Ringsjön and Vombsjön and in parts of the Kävlingeån river. You can canoe on the Rönne å between Ringsjön and Ängelholm. Fishing rules and access conditions may change, so check them in advance for the location you plan to visit.

The north–south section SL2 of Skåneleden passes through Eslövs kommun and has scenic stretches in Harlösa and Löberöd. During a stay in Eslöv, you can therefore choose between city history, nature areas and longer hiking or water-based activities in the municipality.
