Miramar between the beach, huerta and festivals

In Miramar, you can plan your stay around different interests: the long sandy beach, trails through the landscape, leisure facilities and recurring festivals each offer something distinct. If you’re looking for a hotel, first consider whether the beach, outdoor activities, culture or events should be the main focus of your trip.

Beach, promenade and views

The municipality’s main tourist attraction is Miramar Beach. It has fine sand, is about 1.3 kilometres long and around 50 metres wide. The Passeig Marítim runs along the first line of the beach at Playa de Miramar. From there, you can see the Mediterranean to the east and Montgó to the south. To the north, the view extends to the port of Gandia and Cullera Lighthouse. To the west lie the mountains of La Safor and the fertile orange groves at their foot. The views from the Passeig Marítim therefore combine the coast with the distinctive features of the landscape in each of the other directions.

Trails through the huerta landscape

The Sendero Azul Camí Sequia Mare is an almost 3,000-metre circular trail. It starts at the tourist office by the beach, providing a specific starting point for the route. The trail is adapted for people with reduced mobility; it also has shaded rest areas, signage and several information panels. These features provide wayfinding and places to rest along the route. The Sender de la Séquia Mare also gives visitors the opportunity to observe Miramar’s typical huerta landscape. If you’re travelling by bicycle, Miramar is connected to Gandia, Daimús, Guardamar de la Safor, Bellreguard, Piles, Alqueria de la Comtessa and Oliva by a network of cycle paths and country roads.

Sport, leisure and swimming facilities

Miramar’s Pump Track is open around the clock every day of the year. It opened in 2025 as a new skate park at the northern entrance to the industrial estate. Benches and picnic tables are also available. Parc del Riuet has sports courts and a large stage for concerts and live music. At the Parc dels Somnis recreation area, there are five barbecue spots and five picnic tables; reservation conditions for the barbecue area may change. The site also has a children’s playground with wooden play equipment, swings, a slide and a zip line.

Piscina Municipal is a 1,500-square-metre outdoor semi-Olympic swimming facility at Esportiu El Molí. Plan for its seasonal opening: opening dates, entry conditions and prices may change, so check them before your visit. Miramar also has bathing facilities for people with reduced mobility. Municipal staff provide assistance with bathing; the facilities include an amphibious wheelchair and water crutches. The operating periods for this seasonal service may vary.

Festivals and gastronomy

The Jornades Gastronòmiques de Miramar take place every year in March and showcase polp farcit and coca borratxa. The Fira de Sant Andreu is part of the municipality’s patron saint festivities and takes place around 30 November. The three-day fair includes a food fair and theatrical walking tours. Exact dates may vary from year to year. The municipality’s leisure programme also includes sports activities, evening musical performances, exhibitions, traditional markets and open-air cinema; dates for individual events may change.

A historical perspective on the town

The Iglesia de San Andrés is a building constructed in the Baroque style in the 18th century over the original church dating from 1535. Miramar’s historic street layout is another distinct aspect of the town’s history: it is irregularly arranged and includes Iglesia, Trapig and Raconet squares, as well as Mayor and Abadía streets. A sundial is located in Parc de Llevant. These cultural sites complement the beach and leisure offerings with historical and design-related themes.
