Laguna Arcoíris is a nationally designated natural attraction in the municipality of Melipeuco and is located in Parque Nacional Conguillío. According to local tradition, it was formed after an eruption of Llaima dammed a river. Thus, alongside its description as a landscape feature, there is also a traditional account of how it formed.
During the summer season, Parque Nacional Conguillío offers kayak and boat rentals, as well as campsites and picnic areas. Weather permitting, these services are available until mid-autumn. If you plan to use any of them, keep this seasonal window in mind.
