Monte Verde offers different options for planning your trip: hiking trails with views and natural scenery, as well as VillaLeta’s Viking theme. The scenic trails vary, with summit panoramas, ridge paths, or waterfalls and forest; VillaLeta adds an explorable Viking ship and Viking-inspired dining to the mix.

Hiking Trails with Distinctive Scenery

The Trilha Pedra Redonda has a viewpoint with a wooden deck halfway along the trail. The summit is broad and flat, with 360-degree views. This gives you two stretches of scenic views: the viewpoint along the way and the panoramic views from the summit.

The Trilha da Pedra Partida follows the ridge of the Serra da Mantiqueira and passes natural viewpoints. Unlike Pedra Redonda, where the wooden deck and summit panorama are two notable points, this trail focuses on the ridge route and views along the way. When choosing between the two trails, consider the scenery: a broad, flat summit with 360-degree views, or natural viewpoints along the ridge.

Another option for enjoying nature is Corredeiras do Itapuá, near Monte Verde. The entrance is 3 km from Monte Verde. From there, an easy 1 km trail follows the Córrego do Cadete and leads to waterfalls through native forest. The distances refer to different things: 3 km to the entrance, and 1 km for the trail itself. This distinction helps you keep the access point and trail length separate. Access arrangements may change; check them before your visit.

When comparing the nature options, consider the type of scenery you want: a summit panorama, a ridge with natural viewpoints, or a short, easy trail along a stream to waterfalls and through forest. This makes it easier to choose a trail based on the experience you’re looking for.

Viking Theme at VillaLeta

VillaLeta offers a different experience from the scenic trails. There, you can explore an imposing drakkar, a Viking ship. The ship adds a clearly defined Viking theme to the nature and scenic-view experiences. The attraction may change; if the drakkar is important to your plans, check in advance whether it is still available.

VillaLeta’s dining is also inspired by the Viking Age. This means you encounter the theme both in the explorable ship and in the dining options, but in different ways: exploring the ship is the focus of the drakkar, while the dining draws inspiration from the era. Menu details may change. If you’re planning to visit VillaLeta for the food too, check the current selection before your visit.
