Winemaking, striking rocky landscapes, and local festivals shape Pocito’s tourist attractions. On the Ruta del Vino, you can learn about the production of wine and sparkling wine, then sample the products. The route also includes walks among the vineyards with views of the mountains of Pocito.

Wine Route and Winery History

The different aspects of winemaking include underground cellars and large stainless-steel tanks. Bodega Las Marianas, also known as Finca Camuñas, is an old winery in the Departamento de Pocito with a history spanning more than 100 years. It produces wines and sparkling wines in limited batches. Along the Ruta del Vino, you can get a close-up look at production while taking in views of the vineyards and mountains.

Rocky Landscapes and Trekking

Cerro Valdivia is considered geological heritage of the province of San Juan and offers panoramic views of the Precordillera and Valle de Tulum. Another natural site in Pocito is Baño de la Lechuza in the Sierra Chica de Zonda. There, thousands of years of erosion have created rock formations. The hills around Baño de la Lechuza are considered suitable for trekking; a guide is recommended for the activity.

As part of Semana Santa 2024, Pocito’s program included a free guided trek on Cerro Valdivia; registration at the Casa de Turismo y Cultura was required to take part. If you plan to go trekking, you can also take into account the geological significance of Cerro Valdivia and its views of the surrounding landscape.

Landmark, Museum, and Patron Saint Festival

A replica of the Statue of Liberty stands in Pocito’s main square. It was made by the same French foundry for which sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi worked. The Casa de Turismo y Cultura in Pocito includes a permanent museum with cultural artifacts from Pocito, as well as a traveling museum where various artists can display their work. If you plan a visit or an exhibition, check current opening hours and exhibition dates.

Every year, Pocito holds a festival in honor of Saint Barbara, the community’s patron saint. The specific festival dates may vary. If you would like to include the festival in your travel plans, check the dates for your travel year.

Tomaticán and Local Products

A municipal announcement from 2025 described the Fiesta Provincial del Tomaticán, featuring a cooking competition for tomaticán, a typical dish of the Cuyo region made with eggs, tomatoes, and onions. It also mentioned various tastings and food trucks. The festival offerings described thus combine a competition centered on a regional dish with other food options.

In September 2025, the municipality announced that the Feria Agroproductiva would take place on the second Saturday of each month at Plaza De La Libertad; individual dates may vary. Products listed at the time included organic fruit and vegetables, sweets, preserves, baked goods, cold cuts, wine, nuts, and olive oil. Check the date for your travel period if you plan to visit the market.
