At kilometer 1970 of Ruta Nacional 40 is the access road to Río Villegas. Ruta Provincial 83 begins in Río Villegas and runs through the Valle del río Manso. This road connection gives you a clear point of reference when planning your trip: RN 40 marks the access to the town, while RP 83 continues through the valley. If you are looking for a hotel in Río Villegas, you can take into account the routes and destinations you would like to visit during your stay. This makes the town a reference point for routes into the valley and for various activities in the surrounding area.

Access Roads and Points of Reference

To reach the Entrepasarelas route, follow Ruta Nacional 40 to the National Gendarmerie post at Río Villegas. The access road to Entrepasarelas follows Ruta Provincial 83 for about 10 kilometers along a gravel road to the first footbridge, where the cycling route begins. Another point of reference along RP 83 is Pasarela Andrade, located 11 kilometers from the start of the provincial road. These details refer to different points: the post at Río Villegas, the start of the cycling route at the first footbridge, and the distance to Pasarela Andrade. This helps you distinguish between destinations and access roads when planning.

Hiking and Cycling

In Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, Huella Andina includes a section from Lago Steffen to Río Villegas. For another section, it is important to note this time-limited access information: According to a notice dated August 24, 2026, the trail between Río Villegas and Los Pozones was closed until further notice due to rockfall, landslides, and other unstable areas. Check the current trail and access status before setting out on a hike, as the notice reflects conditions as of that date.

The Entrepasarelas cycling route begins at the first footbridge and follows the Río Manso along its entire length. This area therefore offers different routes: a section of Huella Andina in the national park and a cycling route that follows the river. When choosing a tour, you can start by deciding on your preferred mode of travel and the relevant access point. In both cases, check current conditions before setting out.

Riverside Trails and Rafting on the Río Manso

Pozón del río Manso is two kilometers from Camping Coihuin-co and can be reached by a footpath. The entrance to Camping Coihuin-co, in turn, is 200 meters from the access to Ruta Provincial 83. These distances refer to different points: one connects Pozón to the campground, while the other connects the campground entrance to the access to RP 83. They therefore provide specific points of reference in the surrounding area without implying that the two routes are the same.

The Río Manso has rafting routes rated difficulty levels 2, 3, and 4. A rafting trip starts at paraje Villegas, where the Río Manso and Río Villegas meet. When planning, both the stated difficulty level and the starting point are relevant. Check current providers and conditions before planning a trip.

Circuito Andino also offers a specific point of reference: its next stage begins opposite the Villegas Gendarmerie post. The route to Paso León follows a gravel road. If you plan to include this stage in your trip, check current trail conditions before setting out. This lets you include the access roads via Ruta 40 and RP 83, access to the routes, and the stated characteristics of each route separately in your plans.
