Discover Colonia Hocker
Accommodation in Colonia Hocker
Colonia Hocker is shaped by rural tranquillity, nature and visible traces of its village history. Leisurely walks along country roads and wildlife watching by streams offer a different focus from the old village shops and Capilla Santa Rosa de Lima.
Village History in the Chapel and Shops
Capilla Santa Rosa de Lima was founded in 1909. Colonia Hocker is also home to old village shops with a history spanning more than 100 years. They are run by the third or fourth generation of the same families. The chapel and shops offer two different points of reference in time: a specific founding year and a family history carried on across generations.
Country Roads and Nature Watching
Tranquillity and nature set the pace in Colonia Hocker’s rural surroundings. Country roads invite you to take leisurely walks. Along the streams, you can observe the local flora and fauna. A peaceful walk through the area and watching nature are two distinct ways to experience the rural character of the place.
Nearby is Arroyo Mármol, about six kilometres away; it is considered a local destination for day trips. A striking railway bridge crosses the stream. Its pillars are made from stacked railway sleepers, and trains used to run across the bridge. The sleeper construction and its former use by the railway give the structure its own historical significance. Check current conditions before visiting.
Dining in the Village
A description from 2023 identifies Lo del Tolo as a new dining establishment in Colonia Hocker and an addition to the local food scene. Check whether it is currently open before planning a visit.
