Discover Łobez: bathing area, trails and history
Accommodation in Łobez
Łobez combines local history with trails and a nearby lake. When planning your stay, it is worth distinguishing between visits in town and excursions with their own starting points. Some routes include walking times as well as distances, making it easier to estimate how much time they will take.
Bathing area at Lake Unimskie
Lake Unimskie, also known as Moszczenica, lies a few hundred metres from the village of Unimie and about 4 km from Łobez. There is a designated bathing area with a distinctive jetty on the southern shore. This makes it a possible focus for time by the water outside town. Check the current condition of the bathing area locally before visiting.
Local history and architectural heritage
The state stud farm was established in 1876; its complex lies south of Łobez. The Church of the Sacred Heart in town dates from the 15th century and was rebuilt in 1949. These dates point to different periods in the town’s history, from the late Gothic church to the founding of the stud farm in the 19th century.
The Szlak Dziedzictwa Techniki i Architektury cycling route explores local architectural and industrial heritage from the 19th and 20th centuries. The circular route starts in Łobez by the Rega River, near the forestry administration office, and ends at the railway station. The themed route thus links a clearly defined historical focus with two marked landmarks in town. The church, the stud farm and the route each highlight a different period; you can consider these themes separately when planning rather than treating them as a single attraction.

The shorter route takes less time than the longer one, though this does not indicate anything about the level of difficulty.
Also in the wider Labes destination, the blue-marked Szlak Mocy i Tradycji hiking trail starts and ends in the square in front of the railway station in Łobez. It is 43 km long and runs through the Wysoczyzna Łobeska and Równina Nowogardzka, as well as through the municipalities of Łobez and Resko. It passes through fields, mixed forests, hills, valleys and wetlands, crosses the Rega River several times and repeatedly follows its banks. At 43 km, this trail is on a different scale from the two shorter Nordic walking routes; their walking times of about 45 minutes and about 1 hour and 10 minutes apply only to those two routes.
The Szczecin–Gdańsk railway line and the Gorzów Wielkopolski–Kołobrzeg road connection also pass through Gmina Łobez in the wider Labes destination. You can use these connections as a guide when planning; check timetables and road conditions before travelling.
