Klępnica on Lake Klępnicko
Accommodation in Klępnica
Klępnica lies on the southern shore of Lake Klępnicko. The lake, architectural history and a longer themed route give the town several distinct highlights. For a broader view of the destination, the wider context of Labes is also relevant.
Lake and landscape
Lake Klępnicko is the largest lake in the Łobez municipality; Klępnica lies on its southern shore. The lake is a through-flow lake, crossed by a river of the same name. The lake and river are therefore two different bodies of water, even though they share the same name. This distinction helps put the town’s location and the surrounding waterways into context.
Another distinctive landscape feature can be found on the road from Bełczna to Klępnica: it is lined with pear trees. The row of trees creates a distinctive feature along this road connection and complements the lake with a second, different landscape feature.
Palace and local history
The palace in Klępnica is a two-storey building dating from the 19th century and is currently being rebuilt. Its architecture is neoclassical, while also incorporating Art Nouveau elements. Visitors interested in architectural history will find two distinct stylistic influences in one building. A small, well-maintained park adjoins the palace.
A disused cemetery, established in the first half of the 20th century, lies on the field road between the village of Klępnica and Klępnica railway station. It contains a striking memorial stone and the graves of owners of the Klępnica estate, including Max Splittgerber. The cemetery adds another specific link to the history of the estate. Its date also distinguishes it from the palace: the palace dates from the 19th century, while the cemetery was established in the first half of the 20th century.
Circular route and wider destination context
The Szlak Dziedzictwa Techniki i Architektury is a 48.4 km circular route that passes through Klępnica. In the wider destination of Labes, the cycling route was created to showcase local architectural and technical heritage from the 19th and 20th centuries. Alongside individual buildings and heritage sites, visitors can therefore choose a longer route with its own historical focus.
In the wider destination of Labes, the Szczecin–Gdańsk railway line and the Gorzów Wielkopolski–Kołobrzeg road connection run through the Gmina Łobez. Check timetables and road conditions for your travel dates.

The blue-marked Szlak Mocy i Tradycji hiking trail, which is 43 km long, also starts and ends in the square in front of Łobez railway station.
