Discover Bonin: church, manor house and cycle route
Accommodation in Bonin
Bonin offers travellers a clear focus on architectural history and cycling. The local themes can be distinguished as church architecture and artwork, manor house architecture with a park, and a named cycling route. This lets you understand the character of the place through its specific buildings and routes.
Church and earlier heritage
The church “Kościół pw. św. Józefa” was built in 1845 and is Neo-Gothic. Inside, it preserves a Mannerist altar from the 17th century, which comes from an older church. This brings together two different historical periods in one building: the church dates from the 19th century, while the altar has an earlier origin.
An old building called the “dom rzemiosła” also stands not far from the church. Together with the church, it provides another named point of reference for exploring Bonin’s older buildings.
Dwór, Folwark and park
The “Dwór” in Bonin was built in the 19th century and has eclectic features. A park with a woodland character lies beside the building. It contains old trees, mainly oaks. The architectural description of the Dwór and the park’s preserved tree landscape therefore represent different aspects side by side.
The “Folwark w Boninie” consists of farm buildings and forms part of a manor house and country estate complex laid out in the first half of the 19th century. A barn and a cowshed belonging to the Folwark are listed in the register of monuments as dating from 1880. The dating of the complex and the entry for these two buildings therefore refer to different historical points in time. An equestrian centre is currently operating on the grounds of the “Folwark w Boninie”.
Cycling through Bonin
The “Rowerem po Ziemi Choszczeńskiej” cycle route is 38 kilometres long and passes through Bonin. This makes both the place’s connection to a named cycling tour and the tour’s total length clear for your travel planning. You can consider this focus on activities alongside the local buildings when choosing Bonin as a destination.
