Zawadzkie combines cycling and nature with an architectural heritage spanning several periods. A black cycling route runs through the town; there is also a forest nature trail and a canoe landing. The oak avenue and Hüttenteich are also associated with different aspects of nature. Historic buildings and workers’ houses are spread across several streets. When planning a trip, you can choose between routes, observing nature and local history, and focus on whatever interests you most.

Cycling route and nature trail

Black Cycling Route No. 166 runs from Świerkle through Zawadzkie to Kąty and is 9 kilometres long. It passes through Leśniczówka Świerkle, Zawadzkie (Huta), the railway station, the allotment gardens and the Zawadzkie Forest District office. The named stops provide clear reference points for the ride. Check the local signs before setting out, as the current route marking may differ.

The Zawadzkie Forest District nature trail offers a different kind of route. It is located at the edge of the forest near the district office, is about 1.5 kilometres long and forms a circular route. Along the forest path, information boards describe the wildlife and plants of the surrounding forests, as well as forestry. The 9-kilometre cycling route and the approximately 1.5-kilometre nature trail offer a clear comparison of distances; they also differ in format, as one is a circular route and the other a cycling route. You can therefore choose your outing based first on the type of route you prefer.

Nature and picnic spot

In Zawadzkie, the canoe landing is connected to a picnic spot. You can camp there, safely light a fire and find shelter from the rain. Check in advance whether the facilities and access will be available during your visit.

The pedunculate oaks along the oak avenue in Zawadzkie have trunk circumferences ranging from 220 to 550 centimetres. Hüttenteich combines historic value with rare plant life: plant species and communities found there are rare in the region and even nationwide. The avenue draws attention to the pedunculate oaks and their measurements, while Hüttenteich is notable for its flora.
