Zalesie Górne is located in Chojnowski Landscape Park. When planning a stay, it is worth distinguishing the attractions in the village from the longer routes and excursion destinations of the wider Piaseczyński destination. Leisure, nature and architectural history offer different starting points for your trip.

Leisure activities in Zalesie Górne and the surrounding area

Planeta Zalesie is a place for family recreation and leisure activities. Its main attraction is Dzielnica Filmowa, an amusement and educational park. This combination of entertainment and education is the clearly identified leisure highlight right in the village.

Zimne Doły is located near Zalesie Górne. It has 13 recreation shelters, including two large ones, fire pits, a forest playground, an observation tower and a car park. Zimne Doły is also a junction for hiking trails and paths. Facilities may change; check their current status before your visit.

The Małpi Gaj adventure ropes course is located in a clearing between Żabieniec and Zalesie Górne. A description dated December 3, 2019, mentions rope crossings between tall trees, a zip line, climbing opportunities and descents on ropes. Before visiting, check whether the ropes course is currently operating.

Community and architectural history

Święto Pieczonego Ziemniaka is a community festival organized by the Zalesie Górne village council since 2010. It is held at the “Domanka” leisure and sports field. If you are planning your trip around the festival, check the dates of the specific edition in advance.

The parish church in Zalesie Górne is a modern brick building with a wooden ceiling. Its western side aisle is formed by a small historic church made of pine wood, built in 1938–39. This means that a brick structure and an older wooden building come together in one church.

Routes and nature in the wider Piaseczyński destination

The 28-kilometre yellow-marked Szlak Południkowy runs from Piaseczno railway station through Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły and Zalesie Górne, then past the Łoś nature reserve and Nowy Prażmów to Prażmów. The 30-kilometre Szlak rezerwatów przyrody connects Zalesie Górne and Zimne Doły with the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves, as well as Konstancin-Jeziorna; from there, it continues to Ursynów. The two routes provide a clear indication of their length, but pass through different locations and protected areas.

Chojnowski Landscape Park has seven marked hiking trails and a network of educational paths for pedestrians and cyclists. The 10-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves. When visiting the landscape park’s eleven nature reserves, you may use only existing paths and marked hiking trails.

At the Żabieniec pond complex, you can observe, among other species, goosanders, black-necked grebes, red-necked grebes, little grebes, garganeys, bearded reedlings, penduline tits and black storks. If nature observation is important to your trip, this pond complex is one of the regional points of interest; the paths and protected areas also set clear limits for planning your visit.

This makes it clear that the village’s attractions and the routes of the wider destination are distinct parts of your travel plans.
