Radzyń is considered a holiday village. Southwest of the village are ponds formed after peat and chalk were extracted. The 31-kilometre Yellow Trail passes through Radzyń, where it meets the Green Trail. The “RoweroweLove – Sławska Pętla” cycling and hiking loop also passes through the village. When planning your trip, you can choose between nature, trails and the “Las, Woda & Blues” festival as different focal points.

Ponds and history

The ponds southwest of Radzyń were formed after peat and chalk were extracted; beavers live there. Their formation connects today’s waterscape with the area’s former use. If you take nature and landscape history into account when choosing a destination, this connection offers a tangible point of interest. Documents from the 13th century mention Radzyń, adding a historical aspect of the village to its landscape-related attractions.

Yellow and Green Trails

The Yellow Trail is 31 kilometres long and passes through Radzyń. Via Jeziorna and Mesze, it continues to the “Mesze” nature reserve. After the village, the route passes recreation centres and continues to a fork near an oak tree. In Radzyń, the Yellow Trail meets the Green Trail; from there, the two trails run together to the IMGW research station, which the Green Trail leads to. These named destinations help distinguish the routes: the Green Trail leads to the research station, while the Yellow Trail goes via Mesze to the nature reserve. The 31-kilometre distance refers to the Yellow Trail as a whole, not just the shared section to the station.

Cycling and hiking loops

The “RoweroweLove – Sławska Pętla” cycling and hiking loop includes Radzyń. It is about 35 kilometres long and runs over asphalt, forest paths and gravel. The full route passes through forests, quiet holiday villages and protected areas. It runs from Sława via Radzyń and Tarnów Jezierny, then via Dąbrowno, Chełmek, Lubięcin and Konotop to the “Jezioro Święte” water and peat bog reserve; it then leads via Lubiatów and Lubogoszcz back to Sława. A route description from 2022 also mentions a permanent cycling connection between Lubiatów and Radzyń, about 11 kilometres long. The distances refer to different types of routes: about 11 kilometres is the connection between two places, while about 35 kilometres is the loop. In a direct comparison, the loop is longer than the 31-kilometre Yellow Trail.
