Kłodawa lies on the Kłodawka River, at the edge of the Puszcza Gorzowska forest. An oval settlement layout, buildings from different periods and Lake Kłodawskie offer different points of interest. When planning your trip, you can use these to distinguish between local history and water-related attractions, rather than viewing Kłodawa through just one landmark.

Townscape and architecture

Kłodawa retains an oval settlement layout. This refers to the shape of the settlement as a whole, distinguishing this feature from the architecture of an individual building. The layout describes a characteristic of the town, while the church and manor house are specific architectural landmarks.

The Neo-Gothic red-brick church was built between 1858 and 1860 and has a wooden barrel vault. The style, material, construction period and vault describe different aspects of the same building: its Neo-Gothic design places it in an architectural context, the red brick describes its material, and the wooden barrel vault is a structural detail. The term refers to a ceiling shaped as a lengthwise vault; in this church, it is made of wood.

Another historic building is the half-timbered manor house, dating from around 1830 and now the seat of the forest district. Half-timbering and red brick represent different construction methods. The buildings can also be distinguished by age: the manor house dates from approximately before the church was built between 1858 and 1860. The building combines a historic architectural style with a present-day institutional use.

Lake Kłodawskie and its paths

Lake Kłodawskie near Kłodawa covers 24.35 hectares. A path about 1.7 km long runs along the north and east shores. Knowing about the lakeside path in advance makes it easier to plan a walk.

The Kłodawska Rybka information and promotional route is near a publicly accessible beach on Lake Kłodawskie. Six realistic freshwater fish models stand along the route. Each model is about two metres long and depicts a pike, carp, bream, roach, perch or catfish. The approximate length applies to each of the six models and gives you an idea of their size.

The lakeside path and Kłodawska Rybka have different focuses: the path is described by its length and location along the north and east shores, while the route is defined by its information theme and fish models. This helps you distinguish the two water-related attractions by route or theme.

Swimming area and arrival by bicycle

Kłodawa has a well-equipped swimming area. If you plan to visit, check the current opening hours in advance. For arriving by bicycle, the convenient and safe cycle path is another useful point of reference: it provides access to Kłodawa. The swimming facilities and cycle access complement the information about the settlement layout, historic buildings and lakeside paths.
