If you are looking for a hotel in Puławy, your travel dates and interest in local history, architecture or other activities can help you narrow down your options.

Puławy’s Cultural History

At the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, Puławy was an important cultural centre thanks to Adam Kazimierz and Izabela Czartoryska. The town was known as “Polish Athens.” This historical context provides a thread for a visit focused on the Czartoryski heritage and Puławy’s cultural significance.

Historic Buildings and Museum

The historic buildings Świątynia Sybilli, Dom Gotycki and Domek Aleksandryjski are located in the park of the Muzeum Czartoryskich. They are open to visitors from June to September. If these buildings are a highlight of your stay, take the season into account when planning your visit.

The exhibition in the palace of the Muzeum Czartoryskich also offers a distinctive perspective on the cultural heritage: it comprises five exhibition rooms on the ground floor and two upper floors. Visitor information lists seasonal opening times for Świątynia Sybilli and Dom Gotycki from 1 June to 30 September: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 4:50 pm, with a break from 1:00 pm to 1:40 pm. Check the schedule before your visit.

A Former Palace Chapel

The church of Kościół pw. Wniebowzięcia NMP in Puławy is a former palace chapel, founded by Prince Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski. The Neoclassical building was designed by architect Christian Piotr Aigner; the chapel was consecrated in 1815. Alongside the park buildings, it offers another specific point of interest for visitors interested in architectural history and the historical role of religious buildings.
