Puławy brings together the heritage of the Czartoryski family, museums, historic buildings and activities along the Vistula. Trails through the city forest and places to visit in the Puławy municipality also shape the options. For your stay, you can therefore choose between focusing on culture in Puławy and nature or leisure activities in the municipality.

Culture and history in Puławy

The Czartoryski Palace and Park Complex is one of the city's attractions. Among its many historic buildings are the palace, the Temple of the Sibyl and the Gothic House. The Muzeum Czartoryskich currently displays high-quality paintings, militaria, decorative arts and historical mementos of sentimental value. Themed walks with a museum expert follow the historic route through Puławy and also explore the history of the Puławy Garden.

The Temple of the Sibyl is considered Poland's first museum of national memorabilia. Today, the historic building is open to visitors from June to September. The historic Domek Aleksandryjski can also be visited during this period. As seasonal access may change, check visitor information for your planned date. The Neoclassical Church of the Assumption of Mary offers another perspective on Puławy: it was a palace chapel and is the work of architect Christian Piotr Aigner.

The Muzeum Badań Polarnych is also part of the city's cultural attractions. It is Poland's first institution dedicated to the Arctic and Antarctic. For children and young people, the museum is offering an educational program throughout 2026, with museum lessons and science workshops.

Trails, forest and the Vistula

The blue-marked Nadwiślański Trail passes through Puławy and continues via Gołąb to Dęblin. Its total length is 112 kilometers. This offers a different scale from the educational trail in the city forest, where themed stops are the main focus. The forest also has an outdoor classroom with benches, waste bins and information boards.

On the Vistula in Puławy, there is a marina with a tower and a riverside promenade. Marina Puławy offers spaces for boat trailers; check current service details before travelling. The Wieprz is also relevant for water activities: north of the Puławy municipality, the river's bends and meanders offer favorable conditions for canoeing and recreation.

Nature and places to visit in the Puławy municipality

The municipality offers a range of landscapes and leisure activities. The Czapliniec fauna reserve is a natural attraction; the natural lake Nury is associated with fishing opportunities and a rich variety of plant and animal life. For exploring on land, the municipality has an extensive network of cycling routes, Nordic walking trails and horse-riding routes. The cycling routes pass through landscapes along the Vistula. The activities therefore vary by type and setting and do not need to be combined into a single route.

The municipality's history can also be seen in different places. The 18th-century parish Church of St. Wojciech stands in Góra Puławska. Gołąb is home to the Church of St. Florian and St. Catherine, also dating from the 18th century, and a Loreto House modeled on the Santa Casa in Loreto. In Bronowice, a historic hornbeam avenue runs alongside a remnant of the park and palace complex built by the Firlej family in the 16th century.

Strawberry growing is part of the local tradition in the Puławy municipality. The annual Święto Truskawki is an open-air festival featuring numerous strawberry-themed experiences and attractions. If you would like to include the festival in your travel plans, check the dates for your stay.

Landscapes in Puławski County

Beyond the city and municipality, Puławski County offers further landscapes to explore. It includes the Małopolska Gorge of the Vistula, considered unique in Europe. The Pradoliny Wieprza is known for its wealth of plant and animal life. Kazimierski Landscape Park covers almost a third of the county's area.
