Explore Oborniki Śląskie via its nature trails, parkland and cultural venues. For planning your trip, there are several themes to choose from: a didactic nature trail, a 22 km route, a viewpoint, architectural history and a cultural programme.

Trails and Landscape

The 5 km didactic nature trail “Na Grzybek” has nine stops described on information boards. It starts in the square in front of the railway station and initially follows the Red Trail. The route runs along the town’s streets, through “Grzybek” Forest Park and across the site of a former Evangelical cemetery. In this way, it connects urban sections, parkland and a site with a history of its own.

The Yellow Trail also starts in the square in front of the railway station and is 22 km long. It is 17 km longer than “Na Grzybek”. The distances provide a clear point of reference when comparing the two trails for your plans.

“Grzybek” Park covers more than 100 hectares and is a landscape and recreation park with meadows, forests, ravines, ponds and forest streams. Its stated size refers to the area of the natural landscape; the 5 km for “Na Grzybek” refers to the trail. This distinguishes the park area from the specific route. Belweder Hill, also known as Góra Holtei'a, is 217 m high and the highest point in “Grzybek”. From there, you can enjoy views of the surrounding area, Oborniki Śląskie, Wrocław and the Ślęża Massif.

Architectural History and Culture

Pałac Schaubertów was built in 1864–1865, with an octagonal tower on the site of an earlier palace dating from the 17th century. Two building phases therefore meet at this location: the predecessor palace and the later construction of Pałac Schaubertów. The octagonal tower adds a specific architectural feature to the building’s history.

Syrena Park includes historic buildings from the former 19th-century spa resort, as well as a diverse collection of trees. These include larches designated as natural monuments and said to be among the largest in Lower Silesia. At the palace, the focus is on the construction period and predecessor building; at Syrena, it is on the history of the former spa resort and its trees.

The Obornicki Ośrodek Kultury at Dworcowa 26 offers a varied cultural programme for audiences of all ages. The centre is home to the Mała Galeria Fotografii Kontrast and Galeria Plastyczna. Photography and visual arts are thus represented as specific areas alongside the centre’s broad cultural programme.

Astra Cinema in Oborniki Śląskie, at Dworcowa 43, complements the cultural venues with film series such as Astra dla Seniora, Astra dzieciom, Astra Kobiet, Dokument w Astrze and Klub Filmowy Astra. The series range from events for seniors and children to women’s, documentary and film-club formats. The programme may change; if you are planning to attend a specific film screening, check the latest dates.
