Wolimierz – Village Culture, Architecture and Discovery Routes

Wolimierz’s preserved old, traditional houses are among its greatest attractions. Renovated and newly built houses also retain traditional architectural features. In 2013, Wolimierz received a special award for the best spatial and cultural planning of a village. The Tajemnice Wolimierza discovery game is divided into four themed routes: Natura, Historia, Kultura and Społeczność. The routes can be explored individually or freely combined. You can focus on one theme—nature or history, for example—or explore several themes in a combination of your choice. The Wolimierskie Tajemnice discovery game has a total of 20 stations to discover and visit. The culture route includes prepared offerings such as films, galleries and studios; completing it can take up to five hours. An important historical landmark is the listed building of the former Wolimierz railway station. The Fundacja na Rzecz Wspierania Kultur Alternatywnych i Ekologicznych saved it from demolition in 1993. Teatr Kliniki Lalek, relocated from Wrocław, is at the heart of the cultural community that has developed in Wolimierz since the early 1990s.
