Sławica lies among forests and lakes on the edge of the “Puszcza Zielonka” Landscape Park. For planning your trip, both the landscape and the trails that pass through the village shape the destination. Depending on whether you would like to cycle, hike, or spend time by a lake, local routes and bodies of water offer different points of reference for your plans.

Cycling and Hiking in Sławica

The 51.8-kilometre Duży Pierścień Rowerowy (Large Cycling Loop) passes through Sławica. The cycling network of Puszcza Zielonka and its surroundings, which includes this route, is connected to the Poznań–Wągrowiec railway line and car parks. It also connects with the Pierścień Rowerowy wokół Poznania (Cycling Loop around Poznań) and the EuroVelo 2 and 9 long-distance cycling routes. These connections make it easier for visiting cyclists to reach and leave the cycling routes of Puszcza Zielonka. If you are planning to use rail or parking, check the latest details before your trip.

There are also trails through Sławica for walkers: a 37.4-kilometre blue hiking trail runs through the village from Dziewicza Góra to Sława Wlkp. The two routes mentioned provide a practical guide when choosing between a cycling and hiking route: the Duży Pierścień Rowerowy is designated as a cycling route, while the blue trail is a hiking trail. A hiking trail through Sławica’s recreation areas passes holiday homes and the “Zacisze” allotment gardens before reaching the built-up area of the village. A hiking trail in these recreation areas also passes Jezioro Borowe.

Lakes and Recreation Nearby

Nearby, Jezioro Gackie lies in the buffer zone of the “Puszcza Zielonka” Landscape Park; the lake is substantially shaped by recreational use. The 29-hectare lake can be seen from a route beyond the “Zacisze” allotment gardens in Sławica. Recreation plots belonging to the village of Sławica lie along its eastern shore. Check local access and usage conditions before planning a visit.

Jezioro Borowe in Sławica links the hiking trail with an opportunity to fish. The lake is part of the PZW; fishing is possible after obtaining the required permit. Before fishing, confirm who is currently responsible for issuing the permit. Fishing competitions were also held there in the past: in September 2019, junior anglers competed for the Alojzy Pacholski Honorary Chairman of the Angling Club Cup. The following day, 21 adult anglers, including one woman, took part in the competition for the Cup of Zbigniew Kujawa, Chairman of the Skoki Municipal Council. These competitions are historical events and do not indicate a current event date.
