Rawicz combines historic town halls and religious buildings with marked hiking and cycling trails. The main railway station in Rawicki County is located in Rawicz and serves the railway line between Wrocław and Poznań. If you are travelling by train, check the current timetable. When choosing a hotel, it helps to decide in advance whether you want to spend more of your time visiting buildings, exploring hiking trails, or enjoying nature and relaxation.

Town Halls and Religious Architecture

Rawicz Town Hall was built between 1753 and 1756. The original structure of massive oak beams has been preserved in the corridors on the ground and upper floors. Jutrosin Town Hall makes a different architectural statement: it was built in the 19th century on a square plan measuring 13 × 13 metres and has an octagonal clock tower. In Rawicz, the traditional timber structure stands out; in Jutrosin, the plan and tower define the town hall’s form.

The church and monastery in Goruszki date from 1739 to 1742. The monastery’s cloister corridors contain paintings, several sculptures from the 15th to 18th centuries, and coffin portraits. The single-nave, fully basemented Church of the Holy Cross in Goruszki has a lower church and a Chapel of the Tomb of St Francis. Here, artworks in the monastery corridors are complemented by distinctive spaces within the church complex. The palace and park complex in Stary Sielec was once the residence of the Czartoryski princes. Near Miejska Górka, the “Koźlak” windmill dates from 1696; it is considered the oldest windmill of its type in the area.

Hiking Trails and Cycling Route

The hiking trails vary in length, route and theme. The green-marked circular trail in Rawicz is about 8 kilometres long. The yellow hiking trail WK-3651-y, designated as a forest trail, is 11.5 kilometres long and runs entirely within Rawicki County. Also located entirely within the county is the 45-kilometre red trail, “Szlak walk Powstańców Wielkopolskich o Rawicz.” It leads to places historically associated with the Greater Poland Uprising. You can therefore choose between a loop in Rawicz, a forest trail, and a longer route with a historical focus.

A nature trail adds another option: “Cztery Pory Roku” is six kilometres long and lies in Pakosław municipality, between Osiek and Pomocno. Check its actual route on site. For cycling, international route R-9 passes through the municipalities of Pakosław, Jutrosin and Miejska Górka in Rawicki County.

Relaxation and a Look at Greater Poland

On the outskirts of Miejska Górka, the sports and recreation complex by the “Balaton” reservoir is set amid green spaces and next to a sports stadium. The reservoir is used for recreation and fishing. If you are planning to attend an event, check the current dates in advance.

The Wielkopolski National Park is a destination in its own right for exploring Greater Poland more broadly. It protects a landscape shaped by glaciers, with forest and lake ecosystems among meadows, fields and erratic boulders. Its 18 areas under strict protection preserve glacial landforms, natural plant communities and the animals associated with them. The Natura 2000 site Ostoja Wielkopolska overlaps with the national park and includes undulating to hilly terrain on the left bank of the Warta. This perspective on Greater Poland complements the buildings and trails of Rawicki County with a distinct view of protected landscapes.
