Landscape in the Przemęcki Landscape Park

Zaborówiec lies between Brenno and Włoszakowice, in the Przemęcki Landscape Park. Forests surround the village, and large fish-farming ponds lie along its southern edge.

The Przemęcki Landscape Park encompasses a system of 24 bodies of water, most of which are interconnected. The park also has a dense network of connected trails that can be explored on foot, by bicycle, by kayak or on horseback. The different ways of getting around offer different ways to experience the park’s landscape.

Cycling and Water Routes

Green Cycling Route 3 is a 17-kilometre loop through Brenno, Zaborówiec, Dominice, Górsko and Miastko, returning to Brenno. It passes through the village and connects it with the other stops on the loop. As route conditions can change, check them before setting out.

The Konwaliowy kayaking trail also runs through the landscape park, following interconnected lakes. It makes it possible to travel across nearly all the park’s lakes in less than two days. While the cycling route is defined by its length and loop, the kayaking trail is described in terms of its waterway and timeframe. This makes it possible to assess two different ways of exploring the area using their respective planning measures.

Local History and Buildings

Zaborówiec was founded around 1584 on land cleared from the forest. Around the same time, a road was built through the village, connecting Brenno with Włoszakowice. These two details point to different aspects of the village’s early development: the settlement to the clearing of the forest, and the road to the connection between the two places.

During the interwar period, Zaborówiec had a border guard post. The former post building is now home to the Retreat and Charity Centre of the Archdiocese of Poznań. Another historic landmark is the brick Marian chapel dating from the late 19th century.
